Cuellar Looking Forward To Extended Run

Carlos Cuellar has said he is looking forward to getting an extended run in the first team following the injury to Richard Dunne.

Speaking to the Official Site Cuellar said he was happy to play anywhere as long as it got him back on the pitch and he says we will miss Dunney's contribution on the pitch.

Whilst he is the most consistent of our established back four, I remain to be convinced on that. I'd like to see Clark (unfortunately not at the moment) given a proper run in his correct position myself and then let's see how he does alongside Cuellar.

'The gaffer has got options, it's the gaffer's choice but I'll be happy even if I play on the left or the right - I just love to play for the club. The worst thing is we will miss Dunney.'

Cuellar also took the opportunity to thank the fans for their backing whilst he was out injured.

'All the fans were behind me and supporting me, it was a big help when you are not playing. It gave me confidence and made me stronger to fight to come back and get back in the team.'

King Carlos will help us to get the points we need, him and clark are our best CB's IMO also, i really hope we keep him in the summer when his contract expires, and get rid of dunne and collins instead, ALL HALE THE KING!

I like Carlos, a solid performer, makes few mistakes (when played in his correct position!) and reminds me a little of Olof. On a slightly unrelated note, any news of Enda Stevens??? Got to be worth a look at full-back surely?

Mike did you not see the newcastle away game last season? Clarke was given a chance by KMAC in the centre of defence, and he was blown away by Caroll... he's not strong enough for that position imho
