Gabby Back And Other Players Injury Update

We`ve already had the news that Fabian Delph is out: Delphinately Out - Another Ankle Injury. Now a bit of good news!

Gabby Agbonlahor has returned to training and is fit for the Wigan game.

Gabby action

In an injury update on The Official Site Alex McLeish told Paul Brown:

He said: 'Gabby is training. That's great news. He looked great in training on Tuesday. He eased himself into training on Monday. But he was tremendous on Tuesday and looked really, really sharp. He's bursting to get that Villa jersey on again. He had a lull with the injury. It would be great to have him on fire again."

Adding that defences fear him in the Premier League 'when he`s in the mood`.

Gabby tackling

'He is one of the top players at this football club, is feared throughout the Barclays Premier League and is always a threat because of his pace and they way he imposes himself on a game. There have been a few games where he was a little quiet - the Manchester United game at Villa Park was one - but if he imposes himself every defender in the country would be frightened of Gabby. He has been here the longest as well and he's a die-hard Villa fan to boot.'

He also explains in the interview that Gabby is now on a new fitness regime in order to try to avoid further problems and strengthen his back. Full quotes: The Official Site

It appears that Ciaran Clarke, who has a knee injury, will be out for up to a month and the report says that Richard Dunne who picked up a shoulder injury, is 'still on track on his road to recovery`.

Make up your mind, is it a track or a road?!

;o)

Chris Herd, who had an ankle injury, played 60 minutes for the reserves v WBA.

McLeish said: 'It's still probably difficult to judge if he can come right into the pace of the game at Barclays Premier League level but such is the way the squad is stretched at the moment we have to consider that.'

maybe herd will be put at centre back for the wigan game?

Delph is poor, not a Premier League player. I hope Dunne is out for the rest of the season and then ****s off to Sunderland along with Collins and Warnock. Glad Gabby's back and hope Clarke hurries up too. Herd is a solid if unspectacular player. Lichaj would be a welcome addition too. UTV

Good to have Gabby back. Lets hope he comes back with a bang!

Gabby, Herd, Lichaj, Baker, Weimann, .... we need to see more of them. If we had done better early season we might have been able to against teams like wigan. So frustrating!

Shame Clarke is injured, with Dunne out this would have been a great opportunity for him cement a position in the middle.
