'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Guzan Praised & His Future

Brad Guzan has an interesting decision to make this summer according to Shay Given.

Speaking to the Official Site Given praises Guzan for his professionalism and his performances this season when called upon saying he should be proud of how he performed on the pitch.

'He's in good form, Brad's a great guy away from football, and around the changing room he's a really good character aswell. When I got back in the team he wished me well and he took it on the chin. Brad should be proud of how he played and I think he showed how good a goalkeeper he is.'

Given went slightly further when speaking to the Birmingham Mail and added that he hoped Guzan would decide to stay at the club come the summer and sign the extension he's been offered.

'It's a difficult one, I'm sure he's got his own advisors but we're all the same, we want to play. I'd love him to stay, but I'm sure Brad's got ambitions as well to be playing regularly. I was in the same position at Manchester City.'

Well Guzan certainly impressed quite a few people with his performances whilst Given was out injured and he's clearly a more than capable back up, but at 27 years old having shown what he can do, will he be happy to continue being a back up.

Depends what interest he gets really I suppose.

I reckon he could comfortably be a championship keeper maybe even a lower league prem team (not that there's many teams lower than us)

Played well when called upon. Difficult decisions indeed.

I hope he goes, he's good enough to be playing somewhere every week and he's wasting his career sat on our bench.
