'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Benty Backing The Weeman To Shine

Darren Bent has described Andy Weimann as being one of the best natural finishers he has seen for a long time.

Speaking to the Official Site Bent said he often says behind after training with the youngster to offer advice and hold extra sessions such as penalties and he's been impressed with the weeman's desire to learn despite having such natural preditory instincts.

'Andy is one of the best natural finishers I have seen for a long, long time. When he's in training he just never seems to miss the target. He has all the attributes to be a top striker. He reminds me of Dean Ashton, he was one hell of a finisher before he unfortunately had to retire. I am tipping him to be a top, top player.'

Bent's praise didn't end there, as he added about Gary Gardner.

'Gary has done really well, we all know what a good player he is. He looked so comfortable against Manchester City, he didn't look fazed at all - that's full credit to him, he's going to be a top player.'

It's going to be interesting watching Weimann's progress. He's been regular at the reserve level but during his spell at Watford they described him as a different type of striker, not a predator, but somebody in the Heskey vain when he worked alongside Michael Owen.

Won't be bad news at all if he's blossomed into a fox in the box given his other attributes.

Great news, if true. Don't recall him getting too many goals at Watford though

I dont think being compared with heskey is much of a compliment

Great! If he's as good as DB says, he has absolutely no chance of playing for us. Or McLeish will play him in central midfield.
