AVFC Summer Transfer Talk Already!!!
Alex McLeish has told Sky Sports that he will have money to spend in the summer.
Yes, I know the reaction that will get because that means he plans on being here in the summer. Maybe we can take that discussion to one of the McLeish threads or articles though and look at the talk on transfer here!
'I will have to do a bit of wheeling and dealing, but that doesn't mean we won't be able to spend money. We have to get the wages down to a level, but it doesn't mean we are going to say we can only afford £5,000-a-week wages for new players from now on. We may end up paying massive wages for someone who comes in the summer as long as it fits into that whole package.'
So looks like that is the plan, get through this season and clear the decks in the summer including a few who will be released/leave on free moves in the summer. Carlos Cuellar and Emile Heskey spring to mind. I believe that Stiliyan Petrov is also free to leave unless the Club take the one year option on his contract. I`d also expect a clear out at the back.
And a tiny bit of summer transfer talk (yup, already!) in The Mirror.
Apparently Villa will look at a £2.5million move for 24-year-old Scotland and Rangers left-back Lee Wallace.
The report also, joyously (!) says that Stephen Warnock can leave the club at the end of the season. He is being linked to MON at Sunderland.

Oh dear, lee wallace from rangers? surely there is better alternatives than him around for gods sake, i was looking forward to the summer instead im now dreading it, looks like we may now become scotland villa with all these scots linked or already here.

Ok proper protests have to start now, after those comments and that disgraceful showing (how many times have we said that this season) if you value the club and its future u need to act and get this man out! Lee Wallace is a good choice, cheap, young and lots of potential. I'd rather that than blast another 6-7 million on another warnock. Lets face it we cannot attract top names, so we need to spend wisely on players who have the potential to become top names..

What a moronic excuse for a human being he is...We are the laughing stock of the premier league, use to be the midlands no1 team but now we are 3rd, Albion and Stoke both easily better and lets be honest if we played Blues now, we would struggle. People are still hopefull this cretin of a man can do something, like what? He has a good team, what other players can he want? This team is easily a top 10 team who have proved they can play good football. Anything the fans say will be ignored by the club, they are making him out to be a great manager and so is most the media, it's a total farce and he needs to go before it's too late.

Lee Wallace is a very good full back to be fair .... sadly he won't want to play in the Championship and a Premier League team will buy him.

So... Warnock going... Cuellar going... Heskey going... Anyone else think we won't be able to field 11 players on the pitch. Don't understand how we are on and off in the 20 riches clubs in the world (revenue wise) and yet we can't field 11 senior players... I don't get it...
