McLeish Confirms Rambo Trial

Alex McLeish has confirmed that Brian 'Rambo' Brown is on trial at the club.

Even if the club are impressed with the 19 year old youngster there would be work permit issues and it's unlikely he would be granted one, but it's a good chance to assess him nonetheless.

Speaking to the Birmingham Mail Alex said of the Jamaican striker.

'He's just a young kid, we're not looking at him for first team level, we've just heard he's got a bit of potential. But it's a fair middle name that, Rambo!'

he wont get a work permit? why would we trial a kid who good or bad we cant play? am I missing something?

Apparently as he is from a Commonwealth country if he is any good he may qualify for student visa as Kenwyne Jones did at Southampton

I think this is a good thing, getting in there early and seeing if they have what it takes, how do you think inter milan, bayern etc end up with these young foreign stars, gotta be in it to win it! maybe we can now find an Arnie for defence? asta lavista baby!

I agree with Clive, and the student visa would get around any problems if we decisde to take it further...... who knows,could be another Dwight Yorke.... well, on the pitch at least.......

Gents. If he was any good, a decent team with decent scouts would've taken him already. Eck is more bothered about his middle name FFS. What a joke we are with him in charge, everything he says has a cringeworthy taint to it.

the leagues he's been playing in in Jamaica obviously aren't of amazing quality. but scoring 35+ goals a season in most leagues is quite impressive, the number of goals he's scored has improved every season since he started, might as well give him a shot.
