Villa Fail In Keane Bid

Aston Villa have reportedly failed in an attempt to keep Robbie Keane at the club for longer.

The Birmingham Mail are suggesting that Villa were keen to extend his loan spell which runs out on February 25, but LA Galaxy are adament they want him back ahead of the start of the MLS season.

This was always the problem with the loan, on the pitch Keane has given us a lift so where do we go now?

Im gutted we needed him, hope we can get him in the summer though
clivethevillan
But will he want to come back? He seems frustrated by the inability of the rest of the team to playmake. Plus will he want to come to a championship side?

Yes I think a cheeky summer bid would be in order, why not? He's still very capable in the PL as he's shown and we have been better fpr it.

We need to find a young replacement with similar qualities. Even if it's gonna cost us £ 20 mill +. We can't seriously build a team around players that are 30+.

Gabby to step up to the plate please. Or we could swap Keane for Heskey and Delfouneso............

Im not surprised they want him back !! Imagine him returning to galaxy in may and they find out he's adopted our hoof and hope policy i think they would be pretty miffed !!

I didn't fancy this loan when it was being sorted out, but I must admit Keano's experience has certainly helped the cause, not to mention his goals.

Credit where it's due - a good loan. Just goes to show what can happen when you ATTACK, and GO FOR IT, and ACTUALLY GIVE IT A GO!!!! McMuppet take heed please....

So much for those who were slagging this signing off beofre it happened!!! I think they are all reading rather than writing now. Great signing never in doubt.
