Anti McLeish Protests Planned v Man City

Been asked to publish this and as an open site and one where I like to put all opinions and contributions up, I've agreed.

I do want to make it clear this site isn't pro or anti this, we aren't endorsing or otherwise. It is down to individuals what they decide with such matters. Be remiss of me not to follow through on the request though

Statement reads:

We have played 24 games this season, we have won 6! Is this good enough? No. This is relegation form.

Alex McLeish is not the man to lead Aston Villa. He had a full pre-season, was given £20m (approx) to spend and has players of the calibre of Darren Bent, Gabby Agbonlahor and Stephen Ireland to work with (also the most promising batch of home-grown players produced in years). Despite all this we find ourselves 13th in the table and without a home win since Bonfire Night.

Now after the débâcle of Sunday with the players now seeming to be in open revolt, the future is looking very bleak indeed.

We need to act now before it is too late and the unthinkable happens.

If you support this, please join us 3pm on Sunday, Trinity road Stand by the McGregor Statue. If you don`t then please ignore this.

voiceoftheholte get in touch via email address on the website. We definatly have some things we could work together on for Sunday

Voiceoftheholte - you need to change your username as you are clearly not the voice of the Holte End, you speak for you and you alone. IMO you are totally misguided and totally missing the bigger picture, but you pays your money you make your choice. Can I ask you - huge Villa fan to huge Villa fan - not to display the banner as I feel it is totally negative step which will have a negative effect on the team.

I want rid of McCleish as much as most of the pro protestors above but the question remains if he goes now then what? who will we get in to replace him baering in mind the boards fascination with prem league experience??? and with the same squad could a new manager get them playing better in the time between now and the summer? I can't think of one reasonable candidate who would be willing to work under the same conditions imposed on McCleish and bring a marked improvement which would be needed to justify his sacking mid way through the season. Can anyone else?

Guy's you can protest all you want the fact is Learner will not fire Mc Leish. I would like to see Mc Leish gone; my opinion has not wained from day 1. What we want is of no mind, AV have spent a lot on money on managers and the Chairman is not going to throw more away by firing big ECK. To be fair the team started to play some kind of attacking football and looked much more exciting in the past few games. We are poor defending, every time we give a corner or a free kick away in a dangerous place you feel a goal coming. I do not know what happened between Ireland and the manager on Sunday. One thing for sure we were not the same team after that; he was very good as indeed was Keane. Assuming we lose on Sunday, then we can start to look over our shoulders. COTVABU

Mr Fear, surely though if the players are getting off scott free, then that's the manager's fault? So if AM refuses to drop the likes of Warnock, then we need a manager who will? Or a manager who can get them to play to their potential- it was less than 2 years ago Warnock was in our World Cup squad! I agree that protesting is not ideal, but if that's what it takes.....i'd rather get AM out now and get a new manager in and settled before our difficult run-in

Just waiting to see Piper go flying over the barriers into the lower holte with a handful of torn off banner in his hand now!! Lol. The players seem to be still sulking from all the quality leaving Fear and I include MON in this. They were brought in on a promise and going places but Randy has rapidly destroyed their dreams. No other teams want them on those wages at their ages and no other managers would be able to get the same performances out of them. If I wasn't a fan, I wouldn't blame them for taking Randy for all they can.

Players are again getting off scott free for their awful performances.

blinking press have quoted this protest as Vital Villa. NOOOOooo! I'm not taking sides, I'll not be attending, I've never protested against a manager, I respect everyones right to but I've done my days of protesting, this one I don't really see as productive at this dicey stage of the season.
