McLeish In Gordon Brown Moment

McLeish In Gordon Brown Moment

When Gordon Brown declared no more boom or bust, it went a little wrong. Let's hope McLeish has a better destiny now he's called for an end to our 'Jekyll and Hyde' performances.

Speaking to the Official Site ahead of what could well be another 6 pointer (are't all the games now???) at the weekend, McLeish has again called on the squad to get some consistency over 90 minutes and perform at our best levels instead of constantly shooting ourselves in the rectum.

'It's been Jekyll and Hyde, we can't afford to do that. We need to show the second half performance full time, full stop from now on.'

Now, I'm all for a bit of Eckybaiting, but he is spot on here and it's about time it dawned on the players.

'We lost here against Arsenal at Villa Park but the players got applauded off. Why is that? It's because they showed full commitment and tempo. We can only play like that, with that commitment. They need to stand up and be counted, to justify wearing the Villa jersey. Concentration from start to finish has to be at the top level.'

So the fans have got it, the least we ever ask for is the players to give their all and show some pride, McLeish clearly gets it as he ever provides the helpful Arsenal reference.

Will the players?

It's disappointing I feel the need to add the health warning, please don't hold your breath - but ever the optimist!

Alex Mc and Gordon Brown similar? Scottish yes. However in truth Brown was no more in control of our economy than a flea is in charge of a rocket. Big Eck has more control. The message needs to be perform or get moved on. Most of the worst performers are coming to the end of their contracts. If they cannot do what is expected now then that has to be the end of them. And club bigger than Villa will want them. Time to make some feel uncomfortable maybe.

We're ok in all other areas apart from defence, the pressure is on Dunne/Warnock/Collins and they are clearly not up to it. Its been a 40 odd games now and still the same mistakes EVERY game.

if that defense wasn't so poor... wish we'd shipped them out. He might have had a fighting chance. Yeah yeah, I know, he isn't liked, but he looks just as baffled on the touchline as us lot and he is always shouting for them to pass forward etc. Thing I don't get is why he's not tried Cuellar and Clarke instead of the two .... rude word was about to be used... tut tut ... in the middle.

That is not a gordon brown moment, Everything he says there is correct whereas everything brown ever said or did was ******** ridiculous. I agree with fear, dunne, warnock and collins have dropped him in several times this season.

Fear, i personally think he doesn't want the shananigans and drama of last season under GH, if he drops Dunne especially he will probably cause drama, also he is eck sperianced but i would go with cueller, clark at the centre all day long myself, we need rid of warnock dunne and collins and replace them with dann, samba, for a start.

Maybe Eck cant/wont drop them in fear of another revolt...last thing he needs is Dunne and co running to the press.
