Up And Coming Macron New Kit Manufacturer?

Looks like Macron might well be our new kit manufacturer for the 2012/13 season.

History and info on Macron:

I don`t usually go with these things before they are officially announced but it appears that Macron have put us up on their site, therefore, they have 'broken` it so to speak.

Looks decent. Italian manufacturer, obviously with some ambition, so be good to see what the deal is.

We've finally arrived. 138 years of history and at last we have the same kit manufacturers as Lincoln Ladies. 'Carry on Villa' goes from bad to worse.

Not sure about the logo on the shoulder if you look at the WHU design, keep it simple and produce a 'classic'... we've not had one in recent seasons. One thought can't we have a 'FA Cup' kit like the 1957 kit ? something different. Yellow top blue shorts for away in the league.

That yellow/blue away kit under big Ron looked the business, bit like Brazil. Don't think we ever won in it though.

I don't know why but Villa on it's list of teams has now been removed.

Funnily enough I was going through my old shirts the other day looking for some classic retro gear to wear and I've got that yellow one. Wasn't the first game we wore it in the FA Cup 5th round vs Liverpool away? Lost. Can't remember the score. Think it may have been 2-0. Pretty sure you are right otitm, we never won in it.

Looks like the rumours about Nike sponsoring Everton are looking like they are true. What are your thoughts about Nike?

Well to be honest the Nike ones were a bit crap anyway, maybe Macron will give us a bit of a more European feel with bits and bobs all over the kit

Was pretty excited when heard Nike were the next manufacturers, but had major disappointments with quality and timing (one year we weren't able to buy home kits until Nov!). We're slipping ever further from my dream supplier, Adidas. Wonder if we've been removed from their site because somebody sent them a video of this season's performances?

Rob-EFC, Nike were a big let down, Villa definitely not a priority, the first one was nice, but after that they were generic and taken from whatever current template they had, I think Scunthorpe or someone had the exact same kit, and the last one was a fiasco, unavailable to buy until around Christmas, because the material wasn't good enough and problems, problems problems....

Strange thing is StephenJ, Nike did some lovely claret and blue kits for Trabzonspor at the same time and never bothered to foist them off on us - I wish they had. May have been the same old arrangement Umbro were alleged to have with Manure, where they got the first choice of red kit and Forest got the one they didn't rate.

That is what is good about the smaller brands, like Le Coq and Macron, they will be more unique with the kits, although our brand has been hit and miss with some of the kits in there time. Sorry about the questions lads, but do you lads buy any training gear from the club? Are they any good?

Yes and yes, especially for my little lad - some of the training gear is better than the kit, IMO.

Can't say i'm over-joyed. Nike weren't as big of a disappointment as some people are making out, sure there was the one screw up with the home kit last season, but it was just once, and it doesn't appear to be a regular thing with them. I didn't mind the simplicity of the Nike kits, our Acorns one with the strips up the shoulders was one of my favourite kits of ours in recent times. I'm not a big fan of all the random splits in colour and lines all over the shirt that the lesser brands seem to always go with, always seems a bit tacky. I've also never been big on collars, maybe just because they don't suit me though haha, which Macron seem to be. We got Nike because we were a top 6 team really didn't we, we were one of the top teams and we needed a top brand, ditching them in my opinion only confirms that we are no longer aiming that high, or more so, can't aim that high

not a fan of the nike kits myself, because the small was way too small for me, and the medium was way too big for me!

Ok I would have loved Adidas as we all would, but the Macron kits I have liked for the last few seasons so not to upset. I really dont care if our kit looks crap or if it is made out of tree bark so long as the home is Claret and Blue and the football next season is better. I would love us to go back to Hummel or Le Coq Sportif though.
