Bent Targets His Ton Against QPR

Bent Targets His Ton Against QPR

Darren Bent is targeting his 100th top flight goal against QPR as he hopes to get us back to winning ways.

Good luck with that Darren.

Speaking to the Official Site Bent said he was determined to help get us back on a winning run and that he wants his 100th goal to come along with 3 points.

'We have got another big game coming up quickly so we have got to go back and prepare and make sure we look after ourselves and we'll go on from there. I'd hate to get my 100th Premier League goal in a game where we get beaten. The main thing is we get a win on Wednesday and if I could get a goal as well I'd be delighted, but the main thing is we get 3 points.'

It would certainly give him a confidence boost now he seems to be finding the net a bit more often, and to be honest with the chances he's spurned already this season he could've got his 100th over and done with quite a few weeks back. But as for winning ways and all the rest of the positive fluff, there's not much our attackers can do (other than give away penalties) when we have defensive performances from the usuals that we've seen all too often.

Nice fluffy comments though, and it's simply Darren's turn to saber rattle again, but as often gets said it would be nice if the whole team started doing their talking on the pitch.

We'd all much rather see it happen as opposed to constantly reading about it happening - especially when it feels like the more they talk the worse the next performance gets!

To lighten the mood though there's a cracking thread on Bent in the forum Bent To Barcelona. The transfer window is that quiet it seems we are making things up in the hope it raises a smile.

Lets hope he does. He's still not getting the service he needs as he seems to be playing with his back to goal most of the time he receives the ball, and really, he's no target man. He's purely a goalscorer trying to do the best he canwith very little decent service and under an IDIOT manager!
