'If It's Football, It's Vital'

McAndrew Proud Of NextGen Exploits

Tony McAndrew has said he feels full of pride following the team's performance not only last night, but also in all of the NextGen games this season.

McAndrew rightly chooses not to comment on the shambolic officiating, preferring to focus on the positives that can be taken from the game and importantly the obvious things the team can improve on like taking the chances we did create. He, like us all, has nothing to criticise them over. It's been a fantastic experience and a great education for them, and as said last night they should be proud of their efforts.

Speaking to the Birmingham Mail McAndrew said.

'It's been a fantastic experience, absolutely first class and we've got so much from it. Our young lads have gained so much experience from playing these top quality European sides. Last night I felt we were a little hard done by, but if you don't put your chances away you'll find yourselves, as we have, out of the competition. But the lads gave everything.'

McAndrew adds that the staff have made sure the players know exactly how proud of them they are and he says he's been delighted with their behaviour and professionalism during the tournament. They handled themselves correctly at all times.
