'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Gardner's Dream Come True

Gary Gardner has reflected on the weekend...his debut start and the derby victory. All in all he's rather chuffed.

Speaking to the Official Site Gardner opened with.

'To make my first start in a derby and win it? What more can I ask?'

See I said he was rather chuffed.

'It's a dream come true, I've dreamt of moments like this from a little boy. My family and mates were at Molineux to watch me too, which was extra special.'

As for the game itself he added.

'To be out there was dream stuff. It was just incredible. It was a massive game for me being my first start, and more importantly, it was a massive moment for the team as a whole to win it. I thought we showed great character to come from behind and take the three points in the end.'

So onwards and upwards for the youngster.

'It was a huge win for us, we are now in 11th and looking to climb the table now. We've proved what a good side we are.'

Oi Mancini, Oi Dalgleish, Oi Ferguson here is your next midfielder. A bid of about £15m or above will get him, yeah forget the rhetoric from that Faulkner bloke, Villa's your feeder club innit!

Gardner is our answer to losing barry and milner, he has that knack of making runs like lampard, he looks the real deal IMO, if Randy sells him i will pack up supporting Villa for as long as he is our owner.

Would be great to see GG get a long run in the team now and kick on from that display. If Collins does shippout then I'd move Clark into partner Dunne.

Big fan of Gardener, hoping he can show how good he is and become a regular face in the first team!

Rated this lad for a while now....the next Steven Gerrard IMO...I hope McLeish lets him play in the NextGen match on Wednesday even thogh he is a 1st team player now!... I think this match is very important to the development and profile of our youngsters, and therefore the future of the club

Listen to his interview on AVTV and how he talks about being part of and playing for the Villa, it really makes the hairs on the back of the neck stand up and gets the blood pumping. Speaks like a true fan and can really see the excitement in his face, hope this boy can become the next Villa legend...!

Wellin the 2 games he has played we have beat Chelsea and Wolves away so maybe when he plays we are a good side. Scored some crackers for End U21's, hope he gets a little run of games now, Arsenal are there for the taking on Sat after their performance Sunday
