Robbie Keane To Face Wolves

Robbie Keane To Face Wolves

Alex McLeish has said that Robbie Keane is chomping at the bit to start against Wolves, but apparently there's no rush to use him.

Speaking to the Official Site McLeish again reiterated that Keane was sharp in training and that he'd struck up quite an understanding with Ireland but he refused to give any clues about our possible team this weekend.

'We've got another few days of training and Robbie's been looking sharp so I've got food for thought for the weekend. We'll keep our team quiet just now. I don't want to give away anything in advance.'

He also says that despite only having Keane for 6 weeks he's in no rush to start or use him and that the time will have to be right for him.

'There isn't any pressure to start him. He is not here for long but it has to be the right time. We're just assessing him fitness wise.'

So we can assume Keane will start, and probably Albrighton will lose out. The rest of the team will be as it has been and whatever happens, it'll be the fault of a young player, it'll be a defensive mistake but they still have the season to get it right, and otherwise we played brilliantly and deserved more.

Now if only I could work out the lottery numbers.

The more I hear Eck the more I don't understand how he works or thinks! I was against keane coming from the off but now he is here we may as well use him. Each time he doesn't play his price per game goes up. He'll end up playing about 4 games at a cost of £125,000.00 per game. Quality bit of business Eck ...

Watching wolves last night, they were awful (being Irish I like Wolves and would not like to see them go down) that being said I want 3 points on Saturday. We have to start winning or we will be in trouble. Certainly if we play properly and attack then we should win. I think Robbie could give us that edge so let’s give him a proper chance. 8 min is not a chance? I doubt that Mc Leish will start him. I just hope he gives him at least 30 min, better still let him start. COTVABU

Trying to see how Bent, Keane, Gabby, and Ireland will line up. To play both Petrov and another midfielder like Clark, Ireland will have to go wide. Tough on Zog since he was starting to play a little better. Idk, pretty confusing

Mcleish blaming Albrighton was a cop out for saying the truth last sat, our defence is useless and need replaicing a.s.a.p Albrighton is a villa lad through and through and i didn't hear him get praised for the constant tracking back he did throughout the game against everton saturday just the blame being put on the kid pff as for keane i still can not believe a club as ourselves who can not sign players until we sell one or two due to the wages then take 31 year old keane for 6 matches??? i still can not believe it to be honest what a joke Villa is at the mo!

Agreed Clive, it wasn't Albrighton's fault we couldn't defend a corner ! (as usual) ...... and irish villa, Wolves rested 10 men last night so don't think that's the team we will line up against !

No rush to use Keane? Why's that Alex, because he's a young lad just starting out and we've got him on a 5 year contract? No, thought not. If he's better than what we've got, start him. If he isn't, why bring him here? The club is mind boggling and a laughing stock. I actually have nothing against AMc, and would have liked it to work, but have become almost apathetic about it all. As for Albrighton, our wingers wouldn't be having to make last ditch tackles if we had a full back worth the name at the club.
