'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Bannan On Wasted Afternoon Yesterday!

Prep, our man on twitter, saw two different players tweets after the 'football' match yesterday v Everton.

One, Barry Bannan, the man the club stuck by recently despite being a major numptie!

He said on twitter:

'Chilling at home ... Wat a cold boring day that was !!!'

Marc Albrighton, the man McLeish blamed for his mismanagement apologised for the performance and said we will bounce back.

as prep said:

The attitude difference between the pair of them is shocking.

He took a lot of abuse for that tweet, everyone telling him we pay to watch that rubbish..

Wish players would stay off twitter in some ways but Bannan needs to remember he isn't a star, he hasn't made it yet, the club stuck by him, he could show a bit of dignity for the job he is being paid (and paid well) to do surely?

He's not getting a great reputation at the moment, maybe he needs a bit of a re-think and THEN maybe he will be able to push onwards in his career.

Interesting to see Bannan's comment. I wondered yesterday whether anyone could play Ireland and Bannan in the same team, given their lack of statue and 'bite'. I used to have high hopes for Bannan but he seems to believe his own hype now.
boring !! give me 40k a week and il sit on a bench and watch ***** football all day long !! kid dont know he's born
Stupid boy Bannan........keep your head down and stay out of the news! All the talking should be done on the pitch and if the gaffa doesn't pick you then you try harder you twit!
holte ender 1969
On the other hand, he was only telling the truth wasn't he?
Hard to watch sober hey Barry...!
On a serious note, dont feel him making comments on twitter are gonna help his cause in getting pitch time, maybe he should of gone to prison or been sacked and then he could of been doing something more exciting on a saturday afternoon...Take a leaf out of Clark & Albrightons book, screw the nut & realise what a fantastic life you actually lead especially as were helping pay for it...!
I cannot see any attractions of twittering but each to their own. His comment, however, seems totally harmless. If he was being honest, like most players on the bench feel, he could have said he was totally frustrated and felt he could do better than what he had to sit and watch. But what he said was restrained and does not seem to be worthy of criticism via having a thread on this site. Unnecessary.
Not wishing to disagree with or criticise the venerable Mr Fear of course!
wasted afternoon welcome to my world you didn,t have to travel from bloody cardiff to watch that dross. and he gets paid for it... have a look at youself son.
fairwater villain
sums him up perfectly. Mediocre talent and an ego twice the size of his diminutive size. Utter to**er.
Being a cynic - he's not trying to get himself pushed out is he?
Unfortunately he will never be a premiership player and without upsetting anyone Albrighton was really poor and did not track the run of Anichabee, so yes AMC was right to blame him. They are the ones on the pitch and need to be responsible for there mistakes
Don't understand why he felt he needed to 'Tweet' this. I'm 20 and I can't get my head around why people get involved with this twitter S**t. Bannan really needs an attitude change and quick. Can't see him doing a better job than anyone who started.
lol, criticise away stenny. I'm at an all time low for 'that lot' to be honest but ffs, he must be on 20k a week or more? And he feels he wasted his afternoon?! try paying to watch it mate!
The Fear
It took a long time for me to believe Bannan's twitter account was for real. Its a real pity, of course, we can't say we know him, but from what we see and hear, he's a pillock.
Tell Hercs to stop calling Gabby the thick one we have the real mcoy in the dressing room.
Full marks for owning up Marc not your best game by a long way.Having said that we do pay our defenders to mark the bloody opposing forwards in the first place.Oh I forgot Mcleishes Villa 9 defenders sorry.
This guy was never good enough the only reason he was starting is cause McIdiot likes the way he always kicks it long, seems like a complete tit to me, and sorry ppl but anyone blaming Albie for the goal are as clueless as McIdiot did anyone ask where was our left back warnock??? I'll tell you where he was BALL WATCHING!!! Albie ran the whole pitch to try to keep up with anichebe and lost his legs over the last 10 yards which is normal after attacking and defending all game, he did have a bad game his crosses were not good enough but its obvious he needs confidence and McIdiot has no idea how to give it.
I don't really see the point of twitter either but having said that I do look at it every now and again and do follow Bannan's 'tweets' (yes yes yes that is very hypocritical I know! But you could say the same of me following Villa even though I really dont see the point of Mcleish!). From reading his posts, Bannan's practically illiterate at the best of times so I think his comment was a poor expression of pretty much what Stenny was suggesting, so I'd put this one down to a quiet news day story.
By which I mean we should just let that one go, not that I was criticising the author who does a spectacular job on this site!
Maybe he should just do one the little****. Over-rated doesn't do him justice. He should just be thankful he wasn't hearing the scoreline second hand from a prison cell the vile *****er.
Yeah well you got paid about 25 grand for it you little ***** head. No wonder we are so *****,the whole playing and coaching staff are ******** idiots.
