McLeish Deflects Blame To Albrighton This Time

McLeish Deflects Blame To Albrighton This Time

GREAT man management by Alex McLeish on BBC Sport

Never ONCE heard him take any blame for the dross of this season. Four losses, 1 draw in the last 5 home games. His latest excuse?

'I'm disappointed we didn't hold on. I had a good feeling we would. It's such a shame that Albrighton tracked Anichebe back but just didn't do the final thing to stop him. We are gutted by that. It's a good learning experience for him. It hurt us a wee bit by not getting three points."

looking down

That will really help a player whose confidence has been on the low side this season.

Well done Eck.

Also does his comment not say it all for the season? 'I`m disappointed we didn`t hold on.

A myth that you are defensive Alex? REALLY? Open Letter From Alex McLeish To ST Holders

I`m gutted at the way this season has gone, especially being one of the mugs who turns up whoever is in charge and whatever the circumstances AND the fact I was one of those ONCE APPOINTED (I was very unsupportive before) who was determined to give him a chance as I think fans should any new manager.

It all depends how Albrighton reacts, If he reacts in a positive way then we should see a more determined winger that helps Hutton out more and might even stop some of the leaky goals we let in, Albrighton is a fantastic work horse, reminds me a bit like Milner who used to never stop with that in mind he could be like our Bale who loves to get stuck in, let's be honest this season Hutton needs help, abit like Downing and Walker situation. On the other hand it might just be the excuse for dropping albrighton for Zoggy.

Saw the interview and thought exactly as you say Fear. He may be right but you don't rip him to shreds in the dressing room in front of the lads let alone on national TV FFS. As much as I didn't want Keane here, he was quality when he came on but what's the point for 10 mins?? We always seem to try to sneak a win or a point or hang on!!!! Why don't we go out and demolish other teams?? Answer is Eck's defeatist attitude. The players think that they're going out with a 3 goal defecit before they've even started and they're so scared to concede a goal that they've forgotten how to score more than 1 and hold on for dear life.

I do think you are right, but you never know he might react positively, Some of the players haven't been accounted for this season but one of the last players who should be put down is Albrighton, but Ireland reacted in a positive way when he was slammed in the press. All in all we would be in a far better place right now if we had someone like Martinz at the helm, playing Zoggy how he needs to be played and Albrighton on the other side, with two fearsome strikers upfront and when playing away from home we could easily have a 4,5,1 with Ireland playing behind the strikers two wingers and then two holding midfielders letting Ireland roam. The one man striker gives it his all for 45-60minutes until burnt out then replace with the other. We all love pretending to be the manager and thinking we know how to fix the problems but one thing is clear is McLeish isn't the manager to push Villa forward.

The annoying part of the goal for me was Warnock. He was the one who failed to push up with the rest and played him on. Maybe I just cut Marc to much slack as I can see his workrate and the fact that on the attack he is one of our best players and look to blame Warnock for everything as, well, he is useless.

If Eck whats to continue to alienate himself with the fans then comments like this are definately going to make it worse...take some responsibility man, the 1st half showing & majority of the 2nd was utter dross, woeful...Having made the run to track him he should of stayed with him, however Eck what about all the other didasters we've had and constant poor decision making from those with huge experience transfer fees and wages that have occured all to often this season...Mark albrighton is the one shining light for us fans at times and certainly does not need singling out, especially when he as other lads that are fans like us are giving their all for the club fans and most likely you....!

BAD MANAGER......FULL STOP!!!! Every week he blames this player or that. He picks the team. He trains the team. He dictates the tactics (or lack of them). IT'S HIS FAULT!!!!!!!!! Never in nearly 50 years of going to Villa matches have I seen the team play so consistantly badly. Not even under Dr. Jo! We must have the worst pair of full backs in the league, how they get any votes in the MotM poll is baffling!

It was Albrighton's fault to be honest. I can't see any reason why Albrighton should start, he shows a lot of passion and commitment on the field, he works very hard but it just seems cross after cross after cross with him, and everyone is awful...He has a lot to learn.
