Clark Never Considered Leaving

Ciaran Clark has said he never contemplated a loan move as he was happy to wait for his chance knowing he could make an impression.

Speaking to Setanta Clarkie said.

'I didn't think about going out on loan. There was nothing ever spoken about it and as far as I was concerned I was determined to take my chance when it came. Luckily I've been picked to play. We all want to be in that starting line up. I'm just keeping my focus and giving it everything to try and stay in the side.'

Be interesting to see when Clark does get his chance in defence, but at least he's getting the experience from midfield.

Best CD prospect at the club and deserves to take either Collins or Dunnes place. I see him better than Cahill was and so I hope Villa tie him down to a long contract and not let this one go.

I like this guy, seems like a proper pro and is very determined, already touted as our future captain and I can see why. He lacks a bit of pace but will make a very good 'ball playing' centre back. Only problem is that he's a typical Man United type of player and wouldnt be surprised if they lodged a bid in season or 2's time. Hopefully by then we have enough ambition to keep our star players.

he's not short of pace for a centre back, and he has enough ability on the ball to not look too out of his depth in midfield. We need to tie him down to a long term deal asap before he does what Cahill did.

My favourite player & one that I really think has the ability to become an excellent footballer...Given the right guidance and opportunities I believe he can become a Villa great...Has some great attributes & shows certain traits that are required in the modern game...I really rate this kid & think if he was coming through in one of the Sky 4 teams they would be throwing superlatives at him already...!

The late Great Bobby Moore wasn't the quickest around the pitch but seemed to "get by". I'm sure Ciaran could become equally great in time.

Clark, Albrighton, Bannon, Gardener, Herd. All will become wanted by Man City, Man United, Chelsea, Spurs, Liverpool and Arsenal soon enough so better get down and see them in action at the villa before Lerner sees they are superstars and knows he can get a humongous profit.

Compared to Hansen by a commentator last weekend. I can see the resemblance in physique and style. He looks good now he's got a bit more confidence and patience. Let's hope redscouse don't come sniffing either.
