McLeish - Transfer Window Is Fun!

McLeish - Transfer Window Is Fun!

Well, I know you aren`t meant to say anything nice at all about Alex McLeish for fear of being ex-communicated as a Villa fan, but I must admit, I like these quotes from him about the transfer window.

You see, many a manager would whinge and whine about the transfer windows and hate the fans gossiping or the paper talk as it inconveniences them.

McLeish?

He says it is great fun!

Having been asked about the Darren Bent to Liverpool rumour, he says King Kenny (Saurez will not walk alone... ahem) told him personally there was no truth at all in it.

Then added: 'It's not frustrating. It's just the window. It's good fun. I'm not frustrated by it. People like to speculate, social networks, it's a field day."

It certainly is. This site (and indeed the Vital Network) stats go through the roof in January and then again, at the time you would think we are at our quietest, in June and July, all for the transfer speculation!

He says there has been no contact from anyone about Darren Bent and that Bent is on record saying he wants to stay.

LOL... at this bit:

'I have spoken to Kenny and he said there's nothing in it. He said - just because Mark Lawrenson said something it doesn't mean it's true."

And then onto transfer talk?

Well, I can`t see much for today, only that the Robbie Keane deal seems set to go through.

McLeish said: 'There's red tape and it's about cutting through that."

It could all be done by Monday morning if the right clearances happen.

Some things annoy me about McLeish (style of play) but fair play to him, we got a result yesterday, he called Dalgleish directly to at least put one fire out (bent leaving). You can't hate a man all the time for everything can you? I think the transfer window and Keane will be good for us in my opinion, and yes even if he is on big money. He cost lpool 18 million 2 years ago. I think it would be nice to see him at VP for a 2 month cameo with his Irish mates.

Don't hate the bloke. More of a "pity the fool" in a non BA manner. We beat a team placed 74 places below us who haven't got a manager and still made hard work of it. Wish he'd stay out of the press. All his comments are a waste of space.

Fresh from guest-managing Manure in their trip to Newcastle he comments in the press, basically saying nothing but just liking the sound of his own voice. Sound bite central.
