No One In Or Out? AVFC Transfer Talk!

No One In Or Out? AVFC Transfer Talk!

Ok, so we have the better than 50/50 chance of a loan of Robbie Keane, lucky us: What The..? Keane 'Deal' Not Well Received!

Sky Sports, amongst others, have Alex McLeish saying he doesn`t want to sell defender James Collins who has been linked to QPR and Sunderland.

Alex McLeish has played down suggestions Aston Villa will sign Ki Sung-yueng and Josh McEachran, and insists he does not want to sell defender James Collins.

He said: 'I've no plans to sell anybody. Sometimes, like in my days in Scotland, there was a sacrifice made. But at the moment, I've no real plans to let anybody go. Have QPR made an offer for Collins? Neil (Warnock) has not called me. Maybe the chief executives have spoken, but I've certainly not had any contact with Neil. Normally there are managers' courtesy calls and I've heard nothing.'

He also says that we can`t afford the latest link, which was to Celtic`s midfielder Sung-yueng saying he isn`t allowed to add to the wage bill.

He also said they`d thought about a loan move for Chelsea midfielder McEachran but isn`t sure if they will or not. I didn`t think we could loan another player from a Prem team (as surely Jermaine Jenas is still on our books?)

Also on Sky Sports defender Assani Lukimya-Mulongoti says he is flattered by the link to AVFC.

Sky say the Congo international, currently at German second division Fortuna Dusseldorf is 'strongly linked` to a Jan move. "My dream is to one day play in the Premier League,' Lukimya-Mulongoti told Sky Sports. 'I am flattered by the link with Aston Villa as they are a great club.

is this the manager trying to talk down transfers to put pressure on the board for some money? Can be really be expected to do any good if he can't build his own team? Gulp.

Fear ...... it became well known to agents and clubs that we were a place to get easy money from during the MON period. Lerner and Faulkner have had to nip this in the bud and AM will have to play hardball over transfers and wages. If the right deal comes along I'm sure they will sanction it. But No more £10m and £45k a week for Curtis davis type of stuff !!!

Bent now 4/6 to move to Anfield.Do the owners and manager actually beleive Keane for 7 games will save us and make the fans happy with losing Bent, not likely, sorry ive been a Villa fan all my life but unless the fans stop turning up theres no way of getting rid of the yank who is obviously broke and the s***ty manager 2 go with it.dont like the way O,neil left but starting to see why he did,why would he continue to manage a selling club just when we were getting somewhere.

agree we did astonmilan and I was told things would be 'freshened up' so yes, hopefully, if there is a deal to be done, it will be. It won't be to the tune of £24m this Jan though! You look at the money wasted it is amazing, no wonder Randy is feeling the pinch (the full list is in the sticky jan transfer thread at the top of this page)

villainthehighlands ...... I was disappointed with McLeish's appointment and still am. I'm also knowledgeable enough to know that the squad has had to endure a lot in the last 18 months and confidence isn't easy to install in players. All the crap put up on forums doesn't help because the gutter press pick up on it, pundits pick up on it and start jumping on the band wagon. We are starting to get glimpses of Nzogbia, Ireland and Albrighton lately so it isn't all bad. The Christmas fixture list was horrific for a lot of clubs including the Sky 4 ...... Swansea was disappointing but it came two days after a massive win at Chelsea and legs were tired as well as minds. We can all get caught up in the conspiracies and rumours. 14 months ago Newcastle fans were calling for Ashley's head and moaning about Pardew, they had no money, no direction, now look at them, would you have wanted Pardew ?? ........ we have big wage contracts ending in the summer, McLeish needs to rebuild the squad with a couple of quality signings and mix it with the youth we have, get the club back within its means. Only then can he really be judged. Some of these players such as Warnock, Collins, Delph, Petrov etc ..... aren't good enough, he knows this but he has to try and motivate them as he has nothing else to replace them with realistically. There aren't any managers out there willing to come here obviously otherwise we would have them already. Fans either support or stay away, I've tried to stay away .....(4 games). but the end of the day I love going to Villa Park to support my team .... through bad times and the good. The players need our support no matter who manages them. UTV

astonmilan,i have to agree we have a decent squad on paper but where will the confidence come from with such negative tactics, why arnt we targeting another winger?and Albrighton was a major talent last season, how did Eck not play him 4 so long,i even had to withdraw him from my deamteam cos he wasnt getting a start.we all knew Nzogbia wasnt a true winger,i just wonder if Eck can keep us up which is so scary.i remember a small quote from faulkner when we signed Eck(imagine how good a manager he could be with funds to play with)really hope im wrong but theres been alot of lies from the board this season and im really hoping it changes over the next few weeks.and your right i wouldnt have liked taking Pardew but they have scouted so well in the last year.
