Aston Villa Transfer Speculation!

Aston Villa Transfer Speculation!

The Times are saying that Spurs might loan out Steven Pienaar who was linked to Villa yesterday.

They say that Everton, Sunderland and Villa are interested. However, we can`t loan another PL player as we already have Jermaine Jenas until the end of the season unless Spurs agreed to end that deal (and why should they?) or we buy him!

I REALLY don`t like loans at all, full stop. No PL club is that cash strapped that they should be allowed to do loans between fellow PL Clubs. Sorry, it is small time thinking and we should not be small time.

We have our first 'understands` from Sky ... HURRAH!

Skysports.com understands Queens Park Rangers and Sunderland are battling it out for Aston Villa defender James Collins. QPR and Sunderland both in the market for new defenders this month.

Not to do with Villa but Liverpool striker Dirk Kuyt is being linked with Galatasaray. Be a good shout for Villa he would, tough, battling, never stops running.

Reports still trying to link Darren Bent outwards. Yawn.

Setanta are saying that Celtic now want Robbie Keane on loan. Would make more sense for him. Hope we don`t get him, loaning for two months is a circus and we missed our chance years ago with Robbie, a quality player on his day for sure but that was back in the day surely? The Spurs fans criticism of him towards the end appeared to be that his legs had 'gone` so going to the MLS sounded perfect surely?

Anyway, that appears to be that so far today.

So far we have:

Fear: I agree, we should not be loaning. Develop our own youth not someone elses. Keane? He couldn't last a game at Liverpool more than 2 years ago so what is the point? Seems we missed out to Swansea for an Irish striker last week. OK will take time to get up to speed but I would much rather see some chances being taken on youth than seeing old has beens brought back at ridiculous expense.
