Judas/O'Neill Ready To Raid Villa? TRANSFER Talk

Judas/O'Neill Ready To Raid Villa? TRANSFER Talk

Well, well, well. We have our first tug or war of the transfer rumour season. Not sure I`ve seen any races yet mind?!

Steve Bates of The People says that both Newcastle and Sunderland want James Collins and would pay up to £5million for him.

Can`t we send Richard Dunne as part of the deal?

Must admit, of the two, I`d rather keep Collins than Dunne but with both of them behaving as they did last season, I`ll be happy to see us shot of both of them. Shame, Collins was my favourite player in his first year!

Apparently MON and Alan Pardew are after the 28-year-old Wales defender but McLeish wants him to stay. Which is strange because how many times this season has McLeish blamed poor defending?

Apparently Shane Lowry will be allowed to leave though.

I must have missed this one but the People also said last week that Martin/Judas (depends on your view!) O`Neill is also keen on Spanish defender Carlos Cuellar who can leave on a free this summer. Yet more millions of Randy`s/Villa`s money wasted by MON. And some are moaning at Randy Lerner ffs?!?

Lowry will apparently be sold in a low price deal once he returns from his Millwall loan.

The People link us to 23-year-old Bruno Manga from Lorient. He is rated at around £4.5million and Everton are also linked. Another they say we might target has been linked before. 32-year-old Jean-Alain Boumsong who wants a return to the PL (if you don`t remember, he was a Magpie) and who played for McLeish at Rangers.

The Transfer Tavern site say that Villa, Stoke, Wolves and Sevilla want Wigan midfielder Mohamed Diame. No real meat on the bone of that one.

twtd say that Villa, Everton, Bolton, Swansea and maybe anyone else you care to mention as no doubt it isn`t true as it is from the tabloids...!.... are after Ipswich`s on loan from Blackburn midfielder Keith Andrews.

What dross we are being linked to. Andrews, Guthie, Gibson, Boumsong, Zamora? Out of the frying pan and into the fire. I think my daughter could do a better scouting job than our club at present.

As long as we get 25m for Bent i couldn't really be bothered, in the next few years we aren't really going to create the kind of chances Bent needs, he is more of a poke it in the net goal scorer, we now have to work really hard for our goals and that is normally without Bent being involved in the run of play, at the moment he is doing nothing than sitting on the last shoulder of the player, not running into the space he normally created for himself, and genuinely doesn't look bothered, he has missed more than is fair share of sitters too which could of easily won us not drawn us matches, For me it is just unlucky that Ireland isn't the kind of player he used to be because him behind Agbonlahor with Albrighton and Zoggy on the wings with Petrov and Bannan following up could even turn into some sort of exciting football. I just don't believe Bent is getting involved enough or creating the space for him to be available, so for me if his heart isn't in it he can do one.

villa 4 ever, you must be having a laugh. Bent is the type of player we should be building a team around, not turning our back on. We should be looking at how we give him the service he needs unless of course you are Mcleish in disguise and your idea of football is to avoid trying to score full stop :-)
18/12/2011 12:12:00
I'm with Villa 4 Ever here. We are carrying Bent. He offers nothing other than a goalhangers poach. Not an Eck type of player atall and doesn't fit into the his tactics. But then again, the man is so obsessed with defending that he thinks you score goals just by punting the ball up front and putting a £25mil striker in the oppositions half. A Striker that can run channels, hold balls up play 1-2s etc. is what we need. Bent is good at nothing except poaching.

"money wasted by MON". And Lerner has done really well since MON left buying Hutton and paying Jenas' wages for a year to sit on the injury table to mention a couple.... ;-D
