Thoughts Are With Jean Makoun

Jean Makoun will miss our final match of the season as he has returned to Cameroon to be with his family who were in a car accident.

Thankfully his wife, and one of his children, are unhurt and only suffering with shock.

Speaking to the Official Site Gary McAllister explained that the club were more than happy for Jean to return home and he wished the family well.

'They are both fine but just in a wee bit of shock. Jean asked for permission to go back which we're given him and obviously he can stay over there because the season is at an end after this weekend. They have been to hospital and they are fine, there are no injuries, they are just a wee bit rattled.'

Thank goodness no-one was hurt. Hope to see Jean back next season firing on all cylinders!! We'll see the best of him then.

Best wishes to him and his family. Not many people agree with me but i think makoun is a quality player and we are yet to see his best form, hopefully next season jean.

P.Avfc .. I dont think anyone disagrees with you on that one? :P Apart from a few maybe. He's shown signs of his quality, just needs a good stint of pre-season and he'll be fine. Best wishes to him and his family.

fast paced prem takes a little getting used to but he'll get better as he shows some quality already. My only concern is he is a little fellow but then so is Iniesta! Glad to read his faimily are not hurt.

Greenslade yep fair comment, on my experience i have had people doubting his ability especially after getting sent off against blackpool and i have not heard too much people bigging him up.

Yes, our thoughts and good wishes are very much with Jean 11 Makoun. The guy will very much benefit from a complete pre-season with us when the lads return in early July, and I for one am expecting big things from Jean throughout the 2011-12 season. He has certainly suggested, from what we have seen from him, that once up to speed fitness wise, and once fully aware of what the premier league is all about, he will be a very accomplished footballer for the club, and certainly has what it takes to be a big Villa Park hero.

Good luck to him. Cant wait to see what he is all about - I know he is the business on Fifa 11 but havent seem much to impress me as yet at Villa. Im sure a preseason is all he needs. Fingers crossed.
