A Transfer Return For Giant Striker + Other Links

A Transfer Return For Giant Striker + Other Links

Ha, it is the Metro show today when it comes to Villa rumours...

I quite like one of these...!

The Metro say that Villa might add another striker to the mix this January by bidding for 29-year-old Spurs striker Peter Crouch who spends a lot of time on the bench these days.

The price is said to be around £10.5 million.

Personally, I think Crouch is a great player, he is so difficult to play against and look at his England record, given the chances he takes them. So ok, yes please!

Talking about Spurs, sorry to hear about Harry Redknapp being mugged. No one deserves that and no matter what you think, he is a real football manager and a real football character and you have to admire the way he has turned Spurs around from near relegation threatened to Champions League qualifiers.

I digress...

Stephen Ireland to Newcastle? Been said before... but the Metro say they might step up the loan bid. When I say they, I mean Newcastle, The Metro aren`t going to bid for him! I wish we`d keep him and get him back to what he once was and could be again!

Liverpool have apparently upped their offer for Blackpool midfielder Charlie Adam but the reported £4.5m bid has been turned down. Obviously Villa have also been strongly linked.

Crouch and bent? Yes please

Not a fan of crouch. Really think we need some more quality @ LB, GK, & CB. (in order of necessity). Will look forward to seeing what happens next week. ON another note, we have come under some serious criticism from both Sunderland and Blackpool. Bruce is clearly bitter (understandably) but get over it. Your club accepted the bid (which was a good price) and i think a good deal was done all round. Holloway (who I used to think was funny till this season) should calm down. Clear to me that Adam wants a move away, and has hinted as such (if not to Villa to somewhere else). Is Holloway going to Have a go at Liverpool for there bid?? Speaking of which, Hasn't comolli overstepped the mark by announcing Liverpools interest in ASh??

No to Crouch for me thank you, good goalscoring record for England granted, but one dimensional as a striker and I am not sure he is a priority at present

We don't need another striker. We have 4 already!

brad friedel has unfortnatley been declared bankrupt! he was only trying to do something good aswell by setting up that soccer academy in ohio but he has lost very heavily on it, 5m apparently. crazy how you can earn £40,000 a week and have nothing

No thanks to crouch, that would just take away the excitement of signing Bent away. 29 years old on big fee with big wages? no thanks as that stinks of transfer gone by where we gain no money back. Fans would not give Crouch a chance when he signed before so I doubt they will again now. I do rate him as a player but he has hardly set the world alight with his scoring at club level. 92 goals in 341 games at club level is not great and I would have rather have kept Carew for free. Surely it makes sense to bring through a younger player along side Bent that is also handy in front of goal. Signing Bent is two steps forward, signing crouch is one step back imo.

Maybe Crouch rumour is a smoke screen for another target? Sorry to hear about Harry, nobody deserves that, altho we did mug Man
