Say Something Positive About Aston Villa

Seriously, with all the doom and gloom (and with our league position and some of the performances, I'm not saying anyone should be happy) but hey, lets have one thread where you HAVE to say something... ANYTHING... positive about Aston Villa.

Negative comments will be deleted, the hounds of hell from Fear Towers will be sent to get you and ... no, that is it!

Say something positive about Aston Villa before we all lose the will to live....

Great club, great original non plastic ground, great colours, unique name, heritage other clubs can only dream of and of course, the best fans!
The Fear
Ownership and running of the club is fantastic. The match day experience is great. Tickets are very reasonable compared to most, VMF is amazing... Although the results are dreadful at the moment, I think as a club we have never been better run, those of us following villa for a few years know that results and players come and go but Aston villa are always the constant. I am a huge supporter of Randy's and can find little fault with his stewardship of our great club
This is just a fort and Big Ifs...We have 25mill to spend in Jan, we should try bring in David Moyes from Everton, he could bring in a few players from his current team. Something Positive. Its a long shot but im reading comments saying HouOUT..Ermm :/ Im not sure but I do agree we have the best fans and our club is amazing.
We have a great academy!
Have u won the European Cup....European Cup...European Cup.... Once you have Villa in your blood it becomes personal. Its family, no matter where in the world you are, that love and affection stands out. sniff ...
at least were not bluenoses
Randy Lerner has a wonderful array of ties!
We have some amazing players coming through the ranks, we have saved a hell of a lot of money by bringing through the youth as squad players, Bannan, Clark, Albrighton, Lichaj, Delfounseo, Hogg, Herd, Gardner and lets not forget Agbonlahor, we have saved a lot of money this way, and its very exciting that we also have Delph, and soon to be Fofana for 800,000 the next Patrick Viera. We also have Reo Coker, Ashley Young, and Collins that can make the difference in games, I believe we have a very exciting future ahead of us, the players are getting better each game and are learning valuable experience, we need to hold onto these gems, not sell them, look at Barry, Milner, Ridgewell, Gardner, and Cahill players who we have let go that arguably was the wrong choice. I think we have a manager who can spot talent, and who will bring attractive football to this club, and it will also make it easier for when we buy players abroad to settle in, We have tried the all English for far too long now, and i can't wait to see players with Flair in their play. Villa 4 Ever
Erm .... On home match days it has only rained once this season. (West Ham)
Fantastic and distinguished history, founder members of the football league, Lions of Rotterdam, provider of more England internationals that any other club, seven times league title winners, seven times FA cup winners, one of only four English clubs to lift the European Cup, first team to play in claret and blue. Thanks J Fear for Vital Villa. It has brought me into contact with Villans from around the world. I was pretty isolated here in the south of England despite having once lived within shooting distance of VP. The banter on here has me in stitches sometimes.
remember it well astvil123, sit on the front row and my clothes are still drying out. Others moved back (including the steward!) but once wet, you can't get wetter, so I stayed!
The Fear
Played! I stayed too! Was absolutely drenched but was well worth it. I stayed along with 3 other fans at the front of the North R7 block while the others ran to the back. Good times! We won 3-0 that day! Pray for rain people! We play well in it!
We are the mighty Villa
Gabby has dedicated his career to the club
Albie (the rightful heir to England's right wing) is a Villan through and through.
Our Academy is wonderful
Bodymoor Heath is world class
You will stay up this year.
Our grand old ground is second to none, she is beautiful.
Cheers Tornado, we know, well most of us do : )
We've been woeful for god knows how long and we're STILL above the noses. Thats gotta be good!?
You have a lovely shade of Blue in your club colours, much nicer than those other blues (who you currently sit above in the table). And you are an attractive prospect, despite the poor run of form for a decent manager like Martin Jol. Just hope you don't end up with Sam A. Lardass...
Erm...we'll get to go to lots of different and interesting away fixtures next year - like Cardiff, and Nottingham..... Oh come on - its sort of positive!!
as i have been on a diet i can now wear all my old replica tops - some are 20 years old !
lol bigfatron, finger twitching on the ban button!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The Fear
Never been to Birmingham but I'm the only Villa fan I know in my country, Uganda.
I like seeing the kids being given their chance , this is work in progress . If they can be integrated with some more experienced players ( new signings or current squad ) then this has to be a good platform from which to build . If GH is replaced then would a new manager continue to give these kids their chance?
Nice one Tornado
Villa 4 Ever was spot on! Villalfred, you take a trip to Villa park when u can find the spare cash. Its great to have fans all over the world!!
Consistently high quality match programme for at least 4 decades and a great fanzine in H&V
The mighty Holte End when in full voice
Latte and Cappucino on match days...
Its never quiet being a Villa fan! there's always something happening.
just watched Dalian lob the Wimbledon keeper, then stand under an umberella (and not not look like a complete nob..ala Steve McClaren) on an old video...ah, classic moments provided by Villa..these and other great moments are the reason i still love this great club!! UTV
As you'd expect there's almost too much to mention, but how about one of only 7 clubs to be ever-present in the Premiership (18 years). Over that time our average finish has been about 8th, the 5th best record. We're not just about a brief burst of success in the early 80s.
We don't have Delia Smith involved in the ownership of the football, providing half time rallying calls
We have Balti pies, great young talent, a supportive owner a fantastic PROPER english football ground and fans who support the club through the rough and the smooth....I LOVE OUR CLUB!
We might have a new manager soon! Surely that's positive giving everyone a fresh start ;-) Only kidding but would be nice. I do struggle to think positive at the moment but we do have a great set of youngsters that have come through. Also even thou those youngsters are now mainly with the first team KM is still turning out results with the reserves. The foundations of our club are still great.
The General. Enough Said.
Prince William, Tom Hanks and myself support the Villa.

So proud of our academy and the youngsters coming through.

JF, can you get the squad to read this thread and hopefully the positives will rub off on to's hoping anyways.

The next Viera is about to sign and we already have the Togolese Zidane!! Haha, seriously though we are one of the most historic clubs in the world. If I may for a moment quote the font of all knowledge that is wikipedia: "[Aston Villa] are one of the oldest and most successful football clubs in England, having won the First Division Championship seven times and the FA Cup seven times. Villa also won the 198182 European Cup, one of only four English clubs to win what is now the UEFA Champions League. Aston Villa has the fourth highest total of major honours won by an English club. The club was founded in 1874 and have played at their current home ground, Villa Park, since 1897. Aston Villa were founder members of The Football League in 1888. They were also founder members of the Premier League in 1992.
My girlfriend said that Hou is "kind of good looking for an old man", (Now that I think about it, ewwwwwwwwwww). But that's positive, I think.
I'm one nil up against Blackburn on PES 2011, so not all's bad!!!
And just think of all the fun we'll have looking up places we've never heard of on RAC RoutePlanner online.,,,,,,,,,,,,,!!!
Just finished watching my best Christmas present - DVD of Villa v Man U 1957 Cup Final. What a day.
chocolate teapot
long term no problem .ive loved this club all my life and will continue to do so,im hurting like the rest of us ,but we will come good ,weve got to believe that ,and i really item of concern and its something we have done since ive been going to vp (1964)being negative, and i tell ya weve been like it in all that time.we need to apprieciate what weve got, its great and unique so lets do what it says on the tin support, and not always be looking for a reason to fault it.BELIEVE.
Everybody in football loves Villa Park, it is iconic. We have also had more players represent England than any other club. Be proud!
