First Villa Player 'Signed'? Press Talk

First Villa Player 'Signed'? Press Talk

The Daily Mail say Villa have their first player.

They say we have a £800 000 deal to sign Le Havre and France Under 19 captain Gueida Fofana. The player is being labelled the new Patrick Vieira.

As posted yesterday on Vital... Click Here we are being linked with Omar Cummings. Who? Aye, agreed!

The Daily Mirror say that Celtic are looking to get Stephen Ireland and Richard Dunne in January. They want loans, we want sales... thought Neil Lennon had already intimated he wasn`t interested in Ireland (the player not the location you understand!)

Month old link to Nicklas Bendtner ( The People ) repeated on that caughtoffside thing that seems to just do random links for no reason or with no substance!

The Mirror repeat the link for Curtis Davies to German team

Werder Bremen. Also Leicester City boss Sven-Goran Eriksson is quoted saying they want him and that the defender hasn`t made up his mind yet. 'He has Leicester as one option and doesn't quite know what he has in the other hand. But, if a big Premier League club comes in, it will be difficult for us to compete.' Wolves, Stoke and Everton they say are also interested.

Yes. I would take anyone aswell. What we have now is good but there just in poor form! Things will pick up but only if Hou goes or signs players. Its 1 or the other...

Do we really need an 18/19 year old from a foreign league who will take time to settle?? At the moment we need players who can slot straight in and improve on the poor performances we've been showing.

"the new Viera"??? Wasn't Nii Lamptey being referred to as the new Pele?! Do me a favour. If this is true then I am well and truly on the "Houllier out" bandwagon. I've no problem with us looking abroad for talent, but it needs to be top quality, not potential Bruno Cheyrou's and Anthony Le Tallec's.

And pray tell Franco - which top quality player is going to come with us in this position? name him - and don't say it's the managers job. I knew some would never give a player a chance - what if he turns out like Yorke - this guy is already playing for the national team and in a French league - so what if it is league 2 - Jeez - some people think it's ohso easy to get a top quality player to come when you are struggling. Welcome the kid FFS and support him. He MAY turn out to be a gem and at the price not a big gamble surely?

Well worth a gamble at that price BUT we have shed loads of young talented midfielders, Hogg, Bannan, Delph and Gardner what we need is at least two players who are the finished article with leadership qualities OR another manager!

i agree with nazvfc, give the boys a chance! We can never attract any great players in our present league and financial position, not to mention our "sell to buy" policy. So this is going to be "as good as it gets" at the moment!
