Family And Physios Just Fab To Delph

Family And Physios Just Fab To Delph

Fabian Delph has paid tribute to his family and the entire Villa medical team for the support they gave him whilst out which his injury.

Speaking on the Official Site Fabian took the opportunity to thank all those who helped him through his eight month lay off following his surprise return to action against Spurs yesterday.

We've known for a while that Fab was well ahead of the game in terms of recovery, and the 21 year old managed to shave a month off his expected time out with the anterior cruciate ligament injury, which shows just how well he has done during this time and how well it has been handled by the staff.

'I've knocked a month off, the physio I have worked with has been unbelieveable for me. He has been there for me every day since I did the initial injury.

'I am not the easiest person to work with when I'm injured. I'm not a very pleasant guy, I don't like being injured, so all credit to the physios that have been with me every day. They have told me to get on with it and knuckle down which is what they have forced me to do. It seems to have paid off.'

Delph is now obviously looking to the future and he feels fit enough to play, although he knows he's not as sharp as he should be, but that will come with playing time.

'I feel brilliant, my knee feels fine. Hopefully I can get a few more games in and get a bit sharper. It's all about improving and adding to my game with this gaffer and the rest of the management. I think they can help me do that.'

Delph was certainly the surprise choice in the team line up, we knew he was back in training but like Petrov and Reo-Coker I doubt anybody expected them to play a part in games this early, but Delph looked pretty good to be honest. Once he gets that sharpness back hopefully we'll reap the rewards of the potential we all believe he has.

Good to see young Delph back & a month early too. Bit surprised that he would get a start over NRC or even Bannan for that matter. Let's see who is in the lineup for Citeh game - seems like quite a guessing game these days.
