Poor Pires Should Be On A Beach You Know?!

Poor Pires Should Be On A Beach You Know?!

Is this a misquote or is Robert Pires for real?

I so hope this is out of context, if not, please Mr Houllier, get him out of our club.

The midfielder told French newspaper L'Equipe (I saw it in our forum...! Click Here )

'When you play a game on 26 December most other players in the big leagues are on holidays in the sun and it annoys me."

'I receive text messages from my friends with photos of them lying on beaches and it aggravates me a little, but it is necessary as I must help Villa get away from the relegation zone.'

Poor lamb.

Get him gone....

I am so weary of players, managers and anyone else being prima donnas, doing all their talking in the press and bringing our club down with their babyish rubbish. If you don`t like being paid top top money and being worshipped by legions of long suffering fans at Aston Villa, please give back your wages, rip up your contract and >>>> off.

Kind of hard to disagree given what he said, but would be nice to see the context - especially whether it was an attempt at pre match humour or a horrific post match comment.

Bit harsh, you have included the full quote, which ends with I must help Villa get away from the relegation zone. Once again I wonder what the context of this quote is, if he is being asked about why England is the only major league without a winter break (which I envisage he was) then his answer is perfectly fine in my opinion, he is saying its frustrating but he says he is more concerned with getting villa away from the relegation zone. Sorry J but I think you have been extremely sensitive here....

YJ, you know me, do I strike you as a sensitive soul? What I am fed up with is over paid players moaning - I liked what Houllier said recently askign what their problem is, they have great jobs and are at a great club. We would all like to be on a beach but sadly not all of us get their ridiculous wages, at least they could pretend to be happy. I'm fed up paying my money hand over fist only for this sort of rubbish. You have voted with your feet mate, maybe you were more sensitive than me? Come on, the quote is whingesome and embarrassing.
