BUMPER AVFC Transfer Talk - Mostly No Good!

Ok, first off... a summer exodus: Click Here

www.guardian.co.uk say that Villa DO NOT want Spurs striker Robbie Keane due to his age and the amount of 'stars` we already have with no sell-on fee. Good, we need to build for the future.

The report also claims that Gerard Houllier is sitting down with Randy Lerner today to talk over January transfer window plans and says there has been a shift in policy with Villa looking at 'promising young talent` rather than older players in the 'twilight` of their careers.

Richard Dunne now fourth choice? If so, will he be looking to move? I`d have thought so?! Richard Dunne And Dusted At Villa?

The Sun repeat the reports from the last few days that Steve Sidwell is in advanced talks with West Ham.

The Daily Mail say that Newcastle midfielder (apparently in fantastic form this season according to the report) could be available for just £1.5million as he only has 18 months left on his contract. The report also says the Club are wary of a fan backlash

John Furious, oh no, sorry, he`s calmed down now, John Cross at www.mirrorfootball.co.uk says Fulham manager Mark Hughes wants Stephen Ireland.

Iain Macfarlane of ://www.dailyexpress.co.uk reports that Villa are no longer interested in Rangers keeper Allan McGregor because he is only 6ft tall! Villa have been linked with a £7million move and had been watched by Gary McAllister and our new goalkeeping coach Rafael Gonzalez.

The Daily Express now claim our target has shifted to Borussia Dortmund keeper Roman Weidenfeller as reported on Vital Villa not long back: Borussia Dortmund goalkeeper Roman Weidenfeller What Have The Roman`s Ever Done For Us?

Curtis Davies is looking at options for a permanent move away from Villa. The Guardian quote the defenders representative Phil Sproson 'It's no secret Villa have made it quite clear Curtis is available. There is an agreement in terms of the price, which is very competitive given his quality and experience. We are considering a couple of options, including going overseas.'

Players inward will be none of the ones linked I bet!!!!!!! Keeping the list so we can all check come the end of the transfer window.

So much to digest and most of it rubbish! The Rangers goalkeeper only being 6ft tall is a laugh. I don't seem to remember that Shay Given was that tall either? If Ireland is going to go to Fulham I hope its quick as Hughes position isn't looking to strong there at the moment and particularly with Martin Jol looking for a job.
Thomas Holte
fingers crossed its mostly a load of old pony .... Barton n Keane ffs ... rather not sign anyone, and limp on to the end of the season - esp Barton -- glad they are "wary" of a fans backlash...

It's rubbish in the fact that you can be under 6ft and be a very good GK, However it might be true that GH wants a stopper that is 6ft+, it's all about manager preference

Samba from Blackburn ? ..... good shout http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11661_6606885,00.html

My biggest concern is the article on sky sports about Randy L still being very commited to Villa, it screams of a "no funds for transfers" speech just before window opens if you ask me, i have less hopes of us bringing in worth while signings than when MON was in charge.
Astonian Villan
Samba's only 26?!? Bring him in!

We have been stongly linked with France Under 19 captain Gueida Fofana, who is playing is trade for my hometown club, Le Havre (french championship). Le Havre president confirmed in the local press he was on talks with Villa over a possible move during the january transfer window. A £1M move is said to be on the cards as the player could leave on a Bosman in the summer. He's a CM in the Abou Diaby mould and is one of France's brightest prospects. I am not sure he's ready for the Premier League yet but if Bannan, Delph, Albrighton and him all fulfill their potential, we'd certainly have one hell of a midfield in the making! UTV

According to Sky we are back in for Wheater http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11671_6607948,00.html, we have also been linked again to Makoun http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11661_6607340,00.html Which i don't understand, because he is on the fringe of the Lyon team and admits Yoann Gourcuff and Jeremy Toulalan are ahead of him, i don't understand why we wouldn't go for someone who is actually playing first team football in a rubbish french league, are we really that poor we can only attract fringe players.
Villa 4 Ever
is it a fair assumption to assume we wll be linked to everyone who is french and vaguely available from now on?
