What are you on about Fear I (don`t) hear you all cry? Well, according to www.guardian.co.uk there could be a summer exodus of players out of Villa as the new manager clears out the unwanted, the unwilling and the downright whingey... if whingey is even a word.
The report, by Stuart James says that up to nine players could go, naming:
Stephen Warnock who is apparently unwilling to move closer to Villa and still lives up in Blackburn. Unwilling to move closer to the place of work? HA!
Steve Sidwell, well that won`t be a summer one will it, that will be in January or at least loaned out in Jan for a summer exit. Good riddance, he never looks in the slightest bit interested. He`ll get another fat pay cheque so I`m quite sure at least he`ll be happy and won`t be sparing a thought for the millions Villa wasted on him.
Curtis Davies who Martin O`Neill bought from WBA for over £10million and who, as you know, is currently on loan at Leicester City. Must admit, for the amount of loss we`ll make him I`d give him another go, on the other hand, those 'pub player` appearances do worry! Apparently Villa only want around £2.5million for him now. Ouch.
John Carew whose contract is up in the summer. Another nice pay day for the man who SO should have been our Didier Drogba. If only he cared as much as we do he`d have been awesome!
Brad Friedel which makes sense as he is 40 next year and his contract won`t be renewed at the end of the season according to this report.
Nigel Hokey-Cokey apparently is at an 'impasse` with his contract talks so might well leave on a free in the summer.
Habib Beye, silly signing in the first place really with our former manager rarely using his own signing.
Well, that is seven names, the report does say up to nine, so time will tell who else!

The other two are Ireland and Dunne, according to many reports. Ireland is/was/will be a waste of space, Dunne has fallen out with Houllier.

Thats £40M in and £60M out.... £20M to find....About the same money we made from Milner and Gardner

Wouldn't mind at all if houllier did this, will get us quite abit of cash aswell as helping the wage budget. Someone MON could not do is use money wisely but if this is true houllier may be able too. Reo will probably be the only loss but he replaceable.

Its a good thing that there is a massive reshuffle due to happen at VP, if not because of the vast amount of dead wood that we were accumulating then because of the new rules on expenditure due to come into place soon.
Being who we are I think these new rules will benefit us quite a lot simply because although we are spending more these days we have never paid ridiculous amounts compared to other clubs, and the fallout of these rules is that surely teams like Sunderland won't be able to hold onto their star players as surely they spend way more than they'll ever make in turnover!
Point I'm getting at really is that we'll be forming a team with the youth a lot more involved, but freeing up the funds to allow us to recruit some decent talent as the days of crazy wages will be over to an extent, just good its happening in a pro-active rather than reactive way, well thats my attempt at positive thinking anyway!

People seem to have forgotten about Fabien Delph. Villa's future midfield could be built around him. He, Bannan and Albrighton were all born within weeks of each other. Imagine a decade of those three at Villa Park? Btw, Villain of Wales, how's Kate...er..I mean...Catherine...doing?

can't get remotely excited about any of them except NRC who absolutely should stay, and maybe Warnock. Warnock of this season is not much loss but the player of last year is hard to replace.
Seriously glad VoW isn't in charge, are you already planning for the championship, or possibly league 1? that 11 is a joke.
For those calling for a mass exodus including both full backs, our best creative talent, our only senior keeper etc I'd challenge that firstly there needs to be someone better to come in as a replacement in each case (unless you subscribe to the MON school and sell all our full backs but buy a centre mid) and secondly we also need a squad not a first eleven, we are hardly blessed with numbers anyway

Glad everyone's in agreement. NRC's the man, although if he really is looking for 50k a week I'd tell him to do one. Warnock is an absolute fairy and even though he can play a bit that fact makes him a pretty useless defender in my eyes. Sell Sidders to specksavers as a walking advert for people to get their eyes checked out. I worry for our own players careers when he goes in for a tackle. All in all I'd be happy enough to get these lot out as long as we can get capable replacements straight away, and hopefully replacements that don't bugger us wage wise

How hard to understand really comparing us now to last season - yes we have lost Milner ( a big loss) but the rest of the squad is there - upset by injury but certainly improved by the newer faces now having a chance.
From these comments we should be glad to see the back of about half of the squad - certainly half of last season's first choice 11.
How have things changed so dramatically?
We could even be facing starting 2011 very near the drop.
O'Neil's departure and injuries certainly have played a major part .
Can Houllier fix it ?
Dont expect major changes in January because they rarely happen.What is certain is that if we dont manage to get a decent striker ,and we have not had that for many years,we will fail to make any headway even with a fully fit squad and some of the non required leaving.
I worry about the form loss of one or two players but I am not calling for a mass cull - all I want for Christmas is a first class centre forward.
