Strong and I think correct words from Gerard Houllier about the players.
I have said a few times in the forums if these well paid (over paid?) players can`t see what a great career and life they have at Villa, they can sling their hook as far as I`m concerned, I have no patience left for these namby pamby Premier League players (not all, just the moaners!)
In an article by Neil Moxley of The Daily Mail he says that Houllier wants his players to move closer to Villa as the commute does none of them any good when the live far away. This is no different to what the likes of John Gregory expected. Martin O`Neill was amongst the commuters so he could hardly tell his players to move closer, but Houllier can!
Houllier says he is addressing things and reminds people he only took the job a few months ago so he is still finding out what is going on at Villa.
Houllier explains:
'We are changing things here. People whinge and moan but they have a fantastic job. They are paid high wages to play and enjoy football.
Apparently there has also been an issue with time off, for goodness sake ... go work in a factory on a 12 hour split shift for a few weeks lads, it would kill you. Or maybe a month in a Children's hospital ward?
Houllier adds that they will have three days off this Christmas, 'OK, they`ve got talent. They are at a good club. They are paid to play and enjoy their football. So, what`s wrong?"
'They have to realise they are at a good club with good facilities and they are paid to get fit.`

My expertise (oh for the love of Paul McGrath, will you stop laughing...!) was used in The Sunday Mercury. If a player can`t motivate himself to play at one of the biggest clubs in British football, then .... ? Well, as it says in the quotes, they can sod off!!??
