Strange one, The Express & Star say that Ashley Young could be fit for the Spurs game on Boxing Day.
Reports had said he could be out for a month with ankle trouble: Ashley Young Out For A Month?
However Gerard Houllier says he only has a small knee injury
'His ankle is fine, it`s a knee problem. I hope to get him back for Tottenham. It`s a medial ligament, grade one strain. He should be OK for Tottenham or at least available. He didn`t train at all. Last week he just went out for a bit of running. He`s been in practically all of the games and his work rate is phenomenal. He can withstand the physical pressure, but he`s the most fouled player when he plays in the centre."
Houllier also confirms another earlier report covered on Vital that Fabian Delph, Stiliyan Petrov and does anyone care Steve Sidwell are back in light training. See: Three Return But The Young One's Are Out
Now onto the more serious business of Ashley Young and the links to him moving.

Stuart James in The Guardian reports that Villa would rather let Ash run down his contract than sell him now.
I must admit, I wouldn`t. I don`t want him to go, but IF (and I do mean IF... it is by no way definite that he wants out) he won`t commit I would want to get as much for him as we can now, but I do understand then that people will continue to say we are a selling club ... which we aren`t! Players have the power, that is it, full stop.
I digress.. as is my want..
The report says with 18 months left on his deal, Villa would rather keep him and let him run that down than let him go now.
The Guardian claim that Ash - and I quote - pulled out of signing at the last minute after months of discussions culminated in him agreeing terms on a new four-year deal that would have given him a significant salary rise - he is already the highest-paid player at the club - and included a clause allowing him to leave for a pre-determined fee.
The paper also says Randy Lerner has no intention of letting him go, although one would expect the final say goes to the manager?

What would you do? Let him run down his deal or make the most you can out of him in a sale now and then spend that on a replacement?
