Gary McAllister has praised the mental strength of the lads after securing all 3 points against the Baggies. Speaking on the Official Site GaryMac allowed himself a moment to think back to the last game, as he urges the players to take all the positives they can and show them again in this weekends game. 'The facts are when you look at a table and the position prior to the game it brings pressure. You could feel it, which is expected so I thought it was an even better result than people are saying because there was pressure on the players, on the young players and probably more on the experienced players.' Paul Brown: Gary McAllister admits the steady flow of first team stars back into training is 'massive' as Villa look to charge up the Barclays Premier League table. Nigel Reo-Coker and Emile Heskey have both returned to the fields of Bodymoor Heath, with Fabian Delph 'bursting' to reinvigorate his claret and blue career after a lengthy spell on the sidelines. Full article: www.avfc.co.uk

Dan Harrison: Barry Bannan says the Villa squad have been training with an extra spring in their step this week and has urged his team-mates to keep the momentum going in Saturday's clash against Wigan. Full article: www.avfc.co.uk

Not a great deal of press transfer talk for Villa today, one report is again linking Stephen Ireland to a six month loan to Celtic. Not sure I buy that, I would think if he is going, Villa would be looking to cash in? Anyway, time will tell! The other bit of gossip is in The Daily Mail who link us to 18-year-old Spanish striker Guillermo Andres Lopez. Details: Click Here

Villa's next generation will face Peterborough in the 4th round of the FA Youth Cup if they overcome Bristol Rovers. Tony McAndrew takes his charges to the Memorial Stadium on January 12 for the third round tie after the game had to be rearranged owing to that unfortunate bout of snow we had. The draw for the 4th round has now taken place and the winners will travel to London Road, so hopefully it means our lads have another away trip!

Gabby Agbonlahor has returned to training after missing the Baggies clash with a chest infection. It hasn't been that great a season for Gabby so far with a host of injuries and illnesses keeping him from the action, but hopefully this will be the end of his worries and we can look forward to seeing the best of him for the rest of the season. General Krulak did a live chat on the official site, here are a few of the snippets from it: The General's Interview
