Finally got chance to listen. Came over very well, very positive for the future. Investment will continue to be made but sensible investment whether on pitch or off.

Some might have wanted a more probing and on the spot interview to illicit greater details on individual topics, but I was pleased with what I heard. As ever, it's now backing that up by what we see in the future.

Also hopefully the start of more official communication from the club, as opposed to simply manager reactions to games.

The interview between Tom Ross and our very own Paul Faulkner is in my humble estimation a very good idea, if perhaps somewhat long overdue. Mr Faulkner is something of a mystery man to most Villa supporters, and really, that shouldn't be the case. I think he should be more visible to supporters, we simply lack that figurehead, someone to identify with. I presume we dont have a Press Officer'? We never hear from him/her if we do have one installed, and there are times when a little bit of communication from the club would I am sure be well received. O.K., Rossy's questions were a bit lightweight, I and many other supporters would have given him more of a grilling, but hey, its a start. Dont be such a stranger Mr Faulkner.

wouldn't it have been great to say we are in talks with a top striker, a probing midfielder and a younger keeper, with a view to signing all three. Merry xmas everbody :-)

As the General is taking a back seat with news from Villa Park it's only right we now start to see more from Paul Faulkner and keep us informed of issues, plans etc that will affect the club.

We used to have Phil Mepham (of Central TV News fame) as a Press Officer under the old regime. It always come down to signings - what id he had said - yes we are looking at X Y Z - then they turn out not to be the "high" class ones that some expect - he would have been flamed for that!. Hust ve thankfull at least a start has been nade in talking to the fans/media again - although it's not what some want to hear as it comes down to who the club are buying and nothing else for some.
