Aston Villa Transfer Talk

Aston Villa Transfer Talk

So yesterday we had links to Borussia Dortmund goalkeeper Roman Weidenfeller on a Bosman free transfer....which led - if to nothing else - to a decent Monty Python sketch! Not many sites give you transfer gossip AND Monty Python do they?! Link: Click Here

There was also link front paged by Fieldy..... According to a rumour on Sky Sports News Gerard Houllier has joined the race for highly rated Basel midfielder Valentin Stocker. Link: Click Here

We were linked the other day to former Celtic winger and current Spartak Moscow player Aiden McGeady but according to a report by Daniel McDonnell in the Irish Independent Moscow aren`t willing to sell the 24-year-old and reports that he is suffering a 'Russian nightmare` seem wide of the mark.

Spartak sporting director Dmitri Popov said: 'McGeady is certainly not for sale. It is not true that he is unsettled in Moscow. No one has approached us from Villa yet but, if they do, our answer will definitely be a no.' Full report: Irish Independent

The Daily Mail Say Villa are in the driving seat to sign Spurs striker Robbie Keane but also claim that Stoke, Wolves and West Ham also want him. Blackburn were said to be interested also when Big Sam was there manager, but as most of you will know by now, Allardyce was sacked by their new Indian owners yesterday. Great, another board with no respect for British football!

I find it all a joke when we are linked with aiden mcgeary and it really annoys me because i did support o'neil until i found out he wanted him, it was the final straw which saw me glad that he walked out the door. He will NOT improve the squad at all, n'zogbia is 20x the player and probably cheaper. As for keane what more can i say? I hope houllier's transfer buisness is alot better than what i have been hearing, suppose there rumours but it would be a nightmare for me if they came true.

I would be very surprised if we sell Ash, or anyone else to Liverpool. Since GH's behaviour at Anfield he would be wise to be seen to be doing right. Whatever happens though, we will have a completely different looking squad next season. In fact we already do, with all the youngsters playing.
