Big Brad - Form Is Down To The Players

Well, well.

Hot on the heels of the Richard Dunne row claims: Revolting Players At Villa?

We now have Brad Friedel saying what a few of us have been arguing this week, stop hiding behind the manager and look at yourself ... player wise that is obviously, he isn`t telling me to look at myself, I do that enough, jeez, I`m a good looking fella you know!?

Friedel told www.talksport.co.uk

"You have to get up for these games if you don`t you really will get found out. It`s down to us as players to get our heads up to be confident and win football matches."

He also says the talk off the pitch means nothing, you have to do it on the grass for 90 mins.

"We`ve been on a terrible run of results. Some of our form hasn`t been as bad as the results suggest, but some games have. We`ve had a tremendous amount of injuries but saying that the young lads have performed very good at times. It`s difficult when you`re young trying to get consistent runs against a lot of good players in the Premier League."

I like Friedel. Whatever his form may be like at the minute, I hope he sticks around the club when he retires. For what it's worth, I think his form probably has a large amount to do with confidence in the players in front of him, or lack thereof. I thought Dunne was class last season, but if you're potentially upsetting a whole squad, then the sooner he's gone the better.

Common sense from a true professional

there's been nothing wrong with brads form this season. I'll in fact go on to say its better than last season. the amount of goals conceeded is nothing more than a reflection of our defensive line.

Maybe, I feel like he looks a tad slower and his reflections are not what I would like them to be. The goals conceded to Wolves and Blackburn that were essentially crosses are what come to mind first. But I'm a cynic and anytime we concede I think it should've been kept out, obviously. Really though, it is tough to determine what the keeper should have stopped and what the back line should have stopped. Just never concede again and I'll be pleased
