Houllier On Injuries

If I'd looked harder I'd have found these quotes before rambling the last injury update.

Gerard Houllier has spoken to the Official Site concerned the 'fit' and the 'crocked' list for the weekend's game against Albion.

Gabby (as we know) will miss the derby with a chest infection and Luke Young will be out with a groin strain.

'Gabby won't be playing because he is sick and probably Luke won't be playing because he has hurt his groin this morning in training.'

In right back related news, Habib Beye has recovered from his ankle injury, so if Luke doesn't make it he will be back in contention for the spot along with Lichaj and presumably Cuellar.

In the good news column, Houllier added.

'Emile is back. Bannan should be back as well because the young kid did everything in training, so it looks as if his groin strain has gone.'

Lose tomorrow and its good bye GH welcome Martin Jol. Don't play Beye, it should be Cueller.

Injuries have definitely upset our performances, effected our results and points haul, however we now have to get down to the serious business of picking up much needed points no matter who or who isn't available to make the starting line-up. Come seasons end, if we're still involved in a relegation dogfight, not that I expect us to be, sob stories about injuries throughout the campaign will get us absolutely nowhere. Positive action now please, forget the off-field problems and distractions.

Feel a little bit sorry for the management. Pretty impossible to build any continuity in the team at the moment. MON never changed the side (virtually). GH at the moment can't run the same team consecutive matches...
