Bring Back Kevin MacDonald?

Bring Back Kevin MacDonald?

HOULLIER OUT!! Bring Back Kevin MacDonald!

Some may say 'What a stupid thing to say!' But facts are facts. Cuellar is now fit, he is still on the bench! Why? We have now conceded from 11 set pieces this year and still Houllier has not resolved this problem. When will he open his eyes to realise how poor Collins, Dunne, Young AND Warnock have been at defending this season!

I know Friedel is older now which is a challenge for Brad to deal with anyway but these four useless players have done absolutely no favours for him. I feel bad for Friedel.

We are still playing 4-4-1-1. Why? Can Houllier please point out one game where he has played this formation and we have played our best football and won the match comfortably? No, of course not, because we have not done that with this formation!

The players don't enjoy playing under Houllier. Gabby was asked when he came in if he was looking forward to working with him, his response? 'No comment.'

Stephen Ireland has suddenly changed his mind about playing for Villa with Houllier admitting 'I don't know if Ireland wanted to come to Villa.' Yes, he did, to play for Kevin MacDonald. All of the players want to play for MacDonald. Yes Newcastle thrashed us once but that was a blip on the radar. Think how good we were defensively against Everton and West Ham. We played great football and were picking up results. Kev left us in a very healthy looking 8th position, now we are 16th; back where we were under O'Leary. Ashley Young was signing a new deal under Kevin MacDonald, then Houllier comes in and suddenly he 'needs to concentrate on his football.' Ashley Young and the rest of the squad clearly do not want to play under Gerard Houllier.

The man is playing the same tactics for every single opponent we have. 4-4-1-1 and long balls up from Collins and Dunne seems to be our main attacking intent. I don't know about everybody else but I'm a season ticket holder who is paying a lot of money to go and watch this rubbish unfold every week and I'm sick of it. Since Houllier has joined he has scraped a last minute win against Blackpool, a late winner away at Wolves and 2 late cup game wins against very poor Burnley and Blackburn sides. He has achieved nothing with a squad that has finished 6th 3 years in a row with good cup runs. He isn't dropping the out of form players (our defenders) despite having other options and is not changing the formation until we are trailing each game.

Liverpool were without Carragher, Gerrard and Torres tonight and they battered us every chance they had, imagine if those 3 had played? Before people say, 'It's because all our central midfielders are injured,' that is not an excuse. Bannan, Clarke, Hogg and Herd have all taken their chances well and out shone the majority of our senior players that are currently playing and certainly filled the gap. Houllier's tactics are wrong, his style of play is wrong, his formation is wrong and he won't change it no matter how bad we play. This Saturday I'm going to Villa Park and will be singing one thing 'HOULLIER OUT!!!' I can't stand watching him spend what money we have available on the players he has commented on (e.g. Michael Owen?)

I was 100% behind Houllier when he came in and thought the future was positive but clearly it has not lived up to expectation. The players aren't happy with Houllier, the fans aren't happy with Houllier, the results are terrible and we need saving from this dreadful mistake. Randy Lerner please tell Houllier it is time he left so somebody who understands Villa can step in and improve what is already a good team. Step up Kevin MacDonald or a big name like the now available Martin Jol. Villa fans will all have their opinions but mine is Houllier has ruined the team morale and I don't want to pay to watch this unfold anymore! That performance was an absolute joke! HOULLIER OUT!! (Also I don't know if anyone else saw but it seemed Carew said his goodbye to the Villa fans at FT).

All this talk about players not wanting to play for the manager...what about the club and the fans?!?! Surely the players have to shoulder some of the blame as well, professional players who are paid to go out and do a job. His "I like Liverpool" comment was ridculous, but do we really want to be known as a team like Leicester who have had 14 different managers since MON left them? Despite that, there is no excuse for the defence playing the way are as of late, if they're not doing the job, change them. It doesn't do him any favours when our best CB is on the bench game after game.

Didn't want it bad enough before and I think it was certainly his to lose, doubt things would be different now though in all honesty if he had been given it regardless, afterall performances weren't that much better and results were equally as bad.

not the man for the job then and not now

Football is going mad! "Alleged" corruption at FIFA, Citeh in for Iniesta and Gareth Bale, Chris Houghton sacked in the North East! Why do we still bother? Switched of after 10 minutes in the L'pool-Villa game as it was obvious where it was going. Still wish Houllier well but feel he has the neext three league games to save his job. There are mitigating circumstances true (I.e injuries), however Villa could be locked in a relegation struggle soon if results don't improve. Agree with the comment above that Chris Houghton should be under consideration if GH (metaphorically) bites the dust at Villa. Don't really think K-Mac is a realistic option for the top job.

Wheater and Lescott in January, please! Curtis Davies back too. A decent striker would be nice, as well. How are Villa going to hold onto their youngsters when the club is sliding down the table or, worse yet, in the Championshio? Kevin MacDonald's hard work in bringing them through will be for nought. Can already see the vultures circulating overhead.

There goes revua's daily rave about KMac haha! Basically he is no better than houllier, we got thrashed 6-0 by newcaslte, lost to stoke and knocked out of europe so tell me how that is an improvement you all make me sick!! If anyone will come in i hope its martin Jol

In any walk of life you have to grasp the opportunity. IF a job came up in my place that I think I could handle and want I'd nail my colours to the mast and make it known I want it. KMac had the chance to grasp this but dithered until it was too late. The players may have "played" for him (well not at Newcastle), but a player is paid to play for the CLUB not for an individual manager. He had his chance - blew it. The players should look in the mirror and take a long hard look. Once on the pitch - THEY have a responsibility to perform. The manager looks and changes things but ultimately it is up to the players to play thier part - for the fans to play their part and of course the manager too.

Houllier out, you're not going to get any argument from yours truly, but a return for Kevin MacDonald, absolutely no way. That guy, for all of his attributes and redeeming features is no premier league quality first team manager. Surely he proved that during his near to disastrous short spell in charge? His deeds, words and actions left a lot to be desired. You wouldn't make a decent manager out of Houlliers and MacDonalds best bits combined.
