Fear Talks To The Liverpool Daily Post!

Fear Talks To The Liverpool Daily Post!

I`ve done an interview for the Liverpool Daily Post:

What's the verdict on Gerard Houllier as Villa manager?

I think he was met largely with a shrug from the majority of fans... then came the split! Those of us willing to support and give him a chance and those who have already made up his mind he is too old, too passed it or for some, too French! Only time will tell, it seemed a strange one at his age but then, looking at his record, he is the most qualified Villa manager we`ve ever had. Tough act to follow with Martin O`Neill (bafflingly for me) still so popular with some.

What style of football has he got you playing?

To be fair, it is difficult to get a style going when you`ve not had time to bring in your own players AND when you end up with 8 first teamers out injured or sick. Even a great kid like Marc Albrighton (watch him over the years, he is a star) is now out due to an appendix problem! I personally think he has tried to get us passing the ball more, the long ball isn`t as often used but that seems to have confused some of our players who aren`t used to the ball on the floor (ouch, I`ll get slated by some for that). Again, style will follow, at the moment with bad luck (and a couple of bad performances) we just need to pick up points.
