'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Cisse - Owen - Carrick - Keane - Roux - Wheater !!

The News of the World claim that Villa will be signing former Liverpool striker Djibril Cisse currently at Panathinaikos. He`s been linked before also.

The People say that Fulham boss Mark Hughes will do battle with Villa over Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick AND Spurs striker Robbie Keane. Wonder if they will sell tickets to this battle, could be interesting. What do they do, anyone know? I`d suggest handbags at dawn?

Meanwhile, again in the News Of The World, Newcastle are also now wanting 'Villa target` Middlesbrough defender David Wheater.

Again in The People, a report by Alan Nixon claims that Celtic want to take Stephen Ireland on loan in January. The report claims that Ireland would 'jump at the chance` unless any 'big` English clubs are interested.

Sorry, if true, maybe he needs to realise he is AT a big club now!

Apparently Villa would rather a sale than a loan and he`d be valued around £7m.

The People also claim that Villa are after 22-year-old French striker Nolan Roux currently at Brest.... no sniggering at the back please.

Gerard Houllier has again spoken about Michael Owen. Not totally sure how this would go down talking about another teams player? Anyway, he said in The Mail on Sunday: 'I would love to bring him here. He would be good for the group and has a joyful attitude to playing.' Amen, if he was on a pay as you play and stayed fit, he could teach our kids loads and get us some goals as well, he knows where the goal is for sure, you`ll remember Wembley I`m sure!
