The Dunneymonster has called this the lowest point of our season and it's about time the team stepped up and started getting the results that match our performance.
Speaking on the Official Site as the team bid to pick themselves up to face Liverpool Dunne said the team were disappointed and that we seriously need to get ourselves on a winning streak.
'We're playing quite well but not getting the results. We're just not getting the rub of the green at the moment. Everyone is really disappointed.'
We are used to being a team of two halves, and that applies to starting the season well and then spending from March onwards with relegation form, so who knows maybe we've just reversed that this season.
'Hopefully this is the lowest point of the season and from here we can turn it around and get a good result at Anfield. It would really kick start our season.'
Sat in 15th place only 3 points away from the relegation zone, it's hard to believe we are only 6 points away from the European qualification places so despite the panic and depression not all is as bad as it seems, and if performances keep improving and we dominate games results will surely follow. BUT we've spent the last few seasons looking back at results we blew and how they affected the final table - we have to stop wasting so many points.
We've only lost two more games than Chelsea and Arsenal so far this season, but again it's the draws that are killing us and a lack of wins.
'For us it's been disappointing, things have to change - we can't keep saying we are unlucky. The season is wide open, it's up to us.'
We can't keep having 'player rousing' speeches on the Official Site to then see them go out and fail to play. Not for the first time this season, I'll say it again.
Yes O'Neill's departure didn't help, yes the injuries haven't helped but it's not the youngsters who are letting us down. It's about time our stars started performing even 50% close to their own PR.
It should go without saying aswell that 451 isn't working, Downing on the right hasn't worked for over 12 months, Bannan being wide right is ludicrous and sometimes the so called stars can be subbed when they are about as useful as a chocolate teapot.
Time to be brave Houllier, and time to earn your wages for the Internationals amongst us.
