Reo-Coker Back In A Fortnight

Gerard Houllier has said that Reo-Coker should be back in contention for a first team place in about a fortnight after returning to light training.

Speaking to SSN Houllier confirmed that Reo was back in training and had done some running, but that he was probably 2 weeks away from being properly fit.

'Nigel has done some running, maybe in two weeks, he'll be back.'

Short and sweet and hopefully they'll be no issues as he recovers fitness and he can help give us a touch of steel and experience in the middle of the park.

The youngsters certainly shouldn't be out on their ears as players return, but at least it gives us the option to rest them occasionally and take the pressure off so they can work in training on the improvements that players of that age obviously need to make.

Those quotes were taken straight after Arsenal game, remember listening to Houllier talk bout NRC. So myabe make that just a little less than 2 weeks to go. And Emile trained yesterday mate, pics of him training were on the Villa site on the Monday blog. Shame he isn't ready for this game tonight though, COME ON THE VILLA!!!!!

Good spot ast, missed that interview, so yeah maybe just in time for Albion. Think Liverpool might be too early.

Nigel Reo-Coker will be a very important player for us in the second half of the season, unless of course he moves on in January, what with his current contract being up come seasons end. The youngsters have come into the starting line up and done us proud with their efforts and application, but in the situation we currently find ourselves in, more experienced heads will be needed to steady the ship. You have been missed Nigel, and the sooner you are back in first team action, the better.
