'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Early Injury News + Clark Confident

Well it's a case of 'as you were' ahead of tomorrows clash with Blues in the Carling Cup Quarter Final. We gain one, and lose one.

Gabby and James Collins have been declared fit and fine for the clash with Gabby recovering from his virus and James Collins (as expected to be fair) is ok for the game despite his calf niggle.

However we have lost Stephen Ireland to a virus this time which is a huge blow given the up turn in his performance against Arsenal in the last match.

As for player beliefs, Ciaran Clark is the latest to say the team will be up for the match, and the youngsters are more than aware of what is expected from them in the derby, by saying.

'I think we'll be able to cope with Birmingham. We just need to start the way we ended Saturday's game. We have to take the second half against Arsenal and put that into effect for the whole game at Birmingham.'

Speaking about the atmosphere, Clark said he was there last season so he knows exactly what to expect.

'The atmosphere is really amazing. It has got to the stage where I really understand what it means.'

Go get them Clarkie...

It is a shame that SI is out but the main thing is we have the Gabstar and Collins back, I agree with you there Mike we need to start the match as we finished on saturday, We need to make them feel like they are the away team and grab early goals, my prediction 15-0 to the villa, HA HA on a serious note - 2-0 to the mighty VILLA
