Marc Albrighton will be out for the next 3 weeks at least as he recovers from appendicitis. Details: Albrighton Now Out For 3 Weeks

Steve Wade: The good, the bad, and the Allardyce! It was a big disappointment to see Villa got bullied at Blackburn last week, and even worse that Lawro was proved right with his prediction that they would lose. Villa revealed that they didn't quite have what it takes to take on the rib-cracking qualities of Blackburn, or quite enough nouse to avoid falling victim to their manager's renowned tactical innovations. Full column: Something For The Weekend (309)

Fieldy: Shane Lowry has admitted that seeing Robert Pires line up yesterday for the reserves clash against the Boggies was quite surreal. Speaking on the Official Site following the 1-1 draw, Lorwy said it was clear that Pires had 'clash written all over him' and he's thinks he'll have a fantastic effect on all the younger folks at the club who'll be able to learn from him in training. 'He's unbelievable, he's won the World Cup, he's played with people like Zidane, he has got class written all over him.' Seeing Pires run out for the behind closed door clash, Lowry reiterated the comments of others for the effect that Pires can have on the younger chaps. Fieldy: Villa's black away strip for the season has been released for sale and includes free name and number printing. After numerous shirt issues this season, at least they are both out now and I must admit to being slightly tempted with the away strip. Prices remain frozen, along with the free printing, as a means of apology from the club for the delays, although that was obviously out of their hands, and the shirts are available from the usual outlets, Villa Village and the City Centre store.

Gabby Agbonlahor is ready to kick start our season now he's feeling properly fit following all his injury niggles. Speaking on the Official Site as Villa prepare to host Arsenal and get back to winning ways, Gabby has declared himself fully fit and has said he's determined to kick start both his and our season this weekend after recovering from his calf, groin and hamstring problems. 'I've played 3 games now and I'm feeling fit. I feel as fit as I have all season. I'm raring to go, I feel good now.' Full article: Gabby Raring To Go And Get His Season Started

Fieldy: Villa's special poppy embroidered match shirts from the Manchester United game have raised £7180 at auction for the Royal British Legion. It's no surprise given his form this season that Marc Albrighton's shirt raised a whopping £940 on its own. Full details: Shirt Auction Raised Over £7000
