Gabby Agbonlahor is ready to kick start our season now he's feeling properly fit following all his injury niggles.
Speaking on the Official Site as Villa prepare to host Arsenal and get back to winning ways, Gabby has declared himself fully fit and has said he's determined to kick start both his and our season this weekend after recovering from his calf, groin and hamstring problems.
'I've played 3 games now and I'm feeling fit. I feel as fit as I have all season. I'm raring to go, I feel good now.'
Gabby admits it's been a frustrating time with all the matches he has missed, and he adds as a player you know it's going to be one of those season when you miss the opener.
'It's been the most annoying spell of my career so far. I've never been one to have many injuries. Maybe I was due one. It was frustrating, rehab is not easy and getting yourself back fit is not easy either. It was hard but I'm back now.'
Gabby has highlighted his run of games and goals last season (5 in 5) as his aim now as we head into the festive period as that was the best he has felt so far in his career, and it's exactly the sort of run he wants now to get his confidence back sky high and see us push up the table after some disappointing results.
It would be nice to have the old Gabby back, and plenty have been critical about his performance in our last match as it seemed Delfouneso did more running in the short space of time he was on than Gabby managed in an hour but it's easy to forget he's coming back from a good spell on the sidelines and isn't fully match fit yet.
Hopefully it'll click for him against Arsenal and if we do go one up front again, we see the sort of performance from him where he led the line beautifully last season.
