'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Only Ridiculous Money Would Prize Ash Away

I had this in the bumper transfer gossip article done this morning but thought it worthy of a stand alone also.

Just some very simple words from Villa boss Gerard Houllier on Ashley Young.

forum

Gerard has noticed already that every time a player of ours is linked out, Spurs are mentioned (they get the same with a long list of their players supposedly Villa bound but never arriving!) and added that the rumours of Ash leaving are not 'keeping him awake at night` explaining in the Daily Star Sunday:

'Every time a player is available, Tottenham are mentioned. I'm sure Harry Redknapp must be wondering what's going on, but I can tell you the reports about Ashley and Spurs are not keeping me awake at night. That's because I can say here and now that Ashley Young will not be going anywhere in January. Absolutely not. They would have to buy this club for that to happen. They would have to come in with a ridiculous amount of money.'

He`s been linked with a move to Liverpool again today, this time in exchange (as part of a 18m package) with Ryan Babel.

It's not really something we already didn't know. But it's good to hear it from The Hou's mouth anyway. Case closed.
