'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Unbelievable Dream Fulfilled

Marc 'Albie' Albrighton has spoken of his pride and delight at scoring at the hallowed Holte End of Villa Park.

Speaking on the Official Site after the excitement and disappointment of the Manchester United game, Albie certainly didn't mind talking about grabbing a goal at the Holte End as he described it as a lifelong dream come true.

'It was an unbelievable feeling. It's something I've wanted to do all my life and I've achieved it against non other than Manchester United'

His obvious delight is hard to ignore, but we do seem to have a crop of young players who are keeping their heads regardless of the occasion and Albie is no different as he then talks about mixed feelings from the game, and disappointment and annoyance that he didn't convert the other chances he had during the match, because simply if he had we would've won the game.

'I had a couple of good chances. One took a deflection, and I should've done better with the header. To score makes up for it in a way but on the other hand it's ultimately cost us because we could have won the game if I'd put those away.'

Good levelled headed response, and again plenty he can learn from. He'll definitely remember the highs, out playing United, being one of the best performers on the day and grabbing his goal at the Holte End, but what will drive him is the disappointment he feels at wasting chances knowing they could've made the end result completely different.

He'll be high on confidence, and whilst he's still going to have his bad days as he finds consistency, he doesn't strike me as the kind of lad who wants to get used to disappointment. If he can channel that, along with the other younger lads, we will definitely have a golden generation on our hands.
