CustardCream: The opening few weeks of November are often depressing ones. The nights draw in, so it`s dark as you drive to work and dark as you leave. The temperature takes a dip. The heating goes on (which instantly raises my grumpy factor because I wonder how much more gas is being used). Then up comes the Argos adverts two and a half months before Christmas, irritating supermarket adverts telling you to stock up now for the festivities and of course , and now Villa have to go and become a bit rubbish just to raise the irritable factor up to ten. Johnny Gould: In that moment, Houllier claimed a Class of 2010. Full article: Houllier's on to something exciting

The People announced that Gerard Houllier is hiring former Newcastle United scout Jeff Vetere to the Villa ranks. Vetere was part of the 'Cockney Mafia` which went down like a lead balloon on the Toon but isn`t all bad judging by info pulled up by Vital member he`sbiggerthanmeandyou. He`s worked at Charlton, West Ham and Real Madrid. Be interesting to know which gems he uncovered for Newcastle United wouldn`t it?

John Carew out plus Niko Kranjcar who is apparently interesting Villa and Newcastle. Sunday's Aston Villa Transfer Talk + Naughty Carew

Glensider: We`ve certainly experienced our fair share of late goals against us in recent seasons, late goals that have turned what could and indeed should have been impressive victories into disappointing drawers, or even depressing, somewhat undeserved defeats, well today my friends, add another late, late killer blow against us to that catalogue of games that got away from us. So John Carew wants out in January then? Well, that will be the result in the slating of his boss: John Carew Rips Into Gerard Houllier

Some good news as Villa winger Marc Albrighton who has really pushed himself into a deserved regular start for the first team this season, has extended his contract. The deal lasts until the summer of 2014. He said, much like that little Flump, on: www.avfc.co.uk that he is 'over the moon`.

Niko Kranjcar is an interesting link. He would certainly add some guile to our midfield. It does indeed look as if Big John Carew is on the way out. Replacing him though, for all of his faults, is going to be no easy task. He has been good for us (and us for him), and overall I would suggest that his time at Birmingham B6 has been a success.

Good news indeed on the Marc Albrighton front. I applaud Houllier and co getting our bright young talent signed up on new extended deals, they are after all our future. They've grown up and developed at Villa Park, and surely have an affinity for this great club, so the very fact that they are willing to commit their immediate futures to Villa Park, is comforting news indeed.
