Sunday's Aston Villa Transfer Talk + Naughty Carew

Sunday's Aston Villa Transfer Talk + Naughty Carew

The News of the World have an article (can`t see the full thing as it has gone subscribe only and I`ll not be doing that!) saying that Stephen Ireland is already thinking about his future at Aston Villa having been unable to get a first team place yet. Maybe they are right, maybe they aren`t! I can`t see it quite yet, he`s had injuries and illness which has disturbed his early career at Villa but hopefully he`ll come good and earn his place.

The People
have followed up on the story we spoke about yesterday, John Carew and his outburst: John Carew Slates Houllier

The report today has Carew snapping back in an amazingly crass way - he says he doesn`t need to prove himself, "There`s a reason why the fans are singing my name. I have been important and involved and scored goals."

There is a reason why many of us don`t sing your name as well John, the non appearance matches which are all too regular these days!??

"If he thinks I should fight for a new contract with the club he should take it up with me. I don`t think the fans or the players think much of it either. It requires a mutual respect. I am puzzled and offended. He should have been here a little longer before he started making demands."

Yes, how dare the manager call a player 'awesome` and 'unstoppable` and how dare a manager challenge a player who is sometimes awesome and is also so very often totally devoid of any fight, spirit, goals or interest.

Anyway, the long and the short of it... John Carew out in January!?

Finally, the Daily Mail say that Spurs are looking to offload David Bentley linked to us time and time again last January and the summer - who is now linked to Fulham. Plus Niko Kranjcar who is apparently interesting Villa and Newcastle. See earlier link below.

Don`t know a great deal about Kranjcar, would he fit in here or not? I`d still take a punt on Bentley though!

John Carews words here seem a lot more harsh than in the original article posted up yesterday, are we sure it's not just the Paper's changing his words to make it sounds that way? Obviously he's sid something a long those lines though which he still shouldn't of

Between now and January Carew will earn £440,000 with his £55,000 a week wages. I would say terminate his contract but odds are we will get £1M for him in January so keep him for now, but I would be surprised to ever see Carew in a Villa shirt again.

Rumour has it that Mr Ireland is still living at the Belfry and has been told to hurry up and find a property in the Midlands soon. His response....'I didn't want to come here in the first place!'

I cant believe people question Houllier. Carew will be forgotten when our team has a continental feel about it. Exciting times in my opinion. Bring on the transfer windows! As for Ireland, if he doesnt want to work hard he can sod off with the rest of the crap
