Villa Wing Wizard Over The Moon

Villa Wing Wizard Over The Moon

Some good news as Villa winger Marc Albrighton who has really pushed himself into a deserved regular start for the first team this season, has extended his contract.

The deal lasts until the summer of 2014.

He said, much like that little Flump, on: www.avfc.co.uk that he is 'over the moon`.

'As soon as the gaffer came to me and said the club would like to offer me a new deal I was always going to sign it. There was no doubt about that. This is the club I want to be at. It's the club I've loved playing at for the last 12 years. I don't see any reason to change that."

He also says having been a supporter of Villa since a kid, he is at the 'perfect club` and says signing the new deal feels 'absolutely brilliant`.

And on the new boss Gerard Houllier he says: 'The manager is a big factor, definitely. He's got a great track record and he's a great manager, as are the other staff who work around him. The lads are brilliant too so for me it's a no-brainer.'

The Official Site also quotes la boss, or is it le boss... Houllier who says that Albrighton has stepped up a level this seeason.

forum'His work rate, attitude, effort, running back - it was an example.

'When you have the talent as well as the attitude, the commitment, being a pro, looking after yourself, working hard in games and training it means a lot.'

Albrighton also talks about the other youngsters Ciaran Clark, Barry Bannan and Nathan Delfouneso and says they will all be looking to do the same, push on and get new deals.

The official site also announced that defender Nathan Baker has also penned a new deal taking him up to the summer of 2012.
