Young Glad To Be Back

Luke Young was delighted to be back on the pitch for the clash against Blues.

Speaking to SSN Luke said he was pleased to be back after his fortnight spell on the sidelines and was glad that he'd been able to return ahead of schedule.

'It was just nice to get back out there and get a game under my belt because I've had a frustrating couple of weeks. I managed to get back a week before I felt I would.'

Despite his own pleasure at returning, Luke couldn't help but praise Ciaran Clark for his performance in the derby and added.

'I think a big plus was Ciaran's performance in the centre of midfield. The manager has spotted something there that no one else saw and he was brilliant. It looks like a role he could fill for us.'

Luke also admitted a few laughs were had in the dressing room pre match with the thought that Blues would be expecting us to line up with 5 at the back and the confusion it would cause and it certainly seemed to do the trick.

When you stop and think just how close he was to leaving the club, it makes you realise that we definitely had a good break there. It would have cost a small fortune to adequately replace him, money that will be better off being spent elsewhere.
